Dirty Little Secrets - Sherlock, John, and Mary

Mary and John have a long-standing agreement that when he has to go to Baker street overnight for "a case", or when Mary is "going out for the evening" with some friends, they don't ask questions.

Mary is pretty sure that John is having an affair with Sherlock, and John is pretty sure that Mary's gone back to assassin work, but they don't bring it up.

That is, until one night, as John and Sherlock are lying in bed together after sex, Mary staggers into 221B, bleeding from a bullet wound in her shoulder.

Now they're all forced to confront the lies they've been telling one another. Results?

(OP is alright with threesome, but if that's not anon's cup of tea please at least refrain from Mary-bashing.)

Sherlock looked up lazily from his cigarette as he heard the front door to Baker Street open and close. It was a bit late for Mrs. Hudson to be going out, and certainly far too late for any customers to be poking around, and he wondered just who would be coming in at this time.
John lifted his head lazily from the pillow, glancing over his shoulder.

“Is that someone coming in?”

Sherlock opened his mouth to reply but the sound of said someone ascending the stairs beat him to it.
Steps light, but placed far too heavily for the small person they belonged to. Slight scuff with each step. Exhaustion. No click of a heel – practical shoes – but the walking pattern was that of a woman. Slight of build and tired, not entirely paying attention as she ascended the stairs - she was familiar with the place.
Even exhausted, the person took the stairs faster than Mrs. Hudson would be able to with her bad hip.
That narrowed it down to exactly one person. He shot John a worried look before he leaned over the side of the bed and began groping for his clothes.

“Sherlock? What’s wrong? Who is it?” John asked, hesitantly following his lead.

It didn’t do them any good, though, the footsteps were already crossing the living room.
Sherlock only had time to haul his boxers up around his waist before the knob turned and the door was shoved open carelessly.

"Mary!” John leaped up and clambered out of the bed, one hand reached toward the blonde as she stumbled a few paces into the room and stopped, blinking at him with empty eyes. “I-it’s not what it looks like, I can expla-“ John stopped mid-sentence, getting a good look at his wife, “...is that blood? Dear God, Mary, what happened??"

She glanced over at her shoulder where a patch of red was crawling across the pink of her jacket and shook her head the slightest bit, eyes barely reopening after every blink.

"S' nothing, John," she mumbled, reaching up to struggle with her scarf for a second before pulling it free and discarding it on a chair.

She didn't say anything as she shrugged out of her bloodied coat, letting it fall to the floor in a crumpled heap as she staggered the last few paces to the foot of the bed.
John remained frozen, one foot out on the ground and with the covers still wrapped around his bare hips, as he watched Mary crawl awkwardly up onto the bed and collapse between himself and Sherlock, breath ragged with pain.
Sherlock leaned, turning her over as John shook his head, trying to break himself out of whatever shocked stupor he’d fallen into.

“Mary, we have to get you to a hospital!”

“No hospitals,” she panted, face screwed up in pain as she tried to bat Sherlock’s hands away from the wound. “Leave it be, I’m fine.”

“Like hell you are,” Sherlock muttered, pinning her good arm up over her head as he pulled the sticky material of her shirt away from the wound. “Exit wound?”

“No. Bloody thing’s still in there. I’ll pull it out in the morning, just let me sleep.”

“No, we’re taking it out now,” John said, his voice slipping into that of the Army Captain, “RIGHT now.”

Mary let out a soft groan that sounded more like a whine of pain.

“Really, John, it’s fine. The bullet can stay for now. Doesn’t even hurt.”

“No. No, it can’t. Sherlock, hold her down and make sure she doesn’t try anything stupid while I prep some tools. Where do you keep your rubbing alcohol?”

“In the cabinet next to the vegetable oil and bottled water,” Sherlock growled, folding his legs up under himself and heaving Mary into his lap.

He heard her breath hitch in pain as he maneuvered her so that she was lying back on his chest, one of his arms locked around her waist and the other pinning her good arm up out of the way.
John returned a moment later, some freshly-cleaned surgical tools in a bowl of boiling water in one hand and a bottle of medicine in the other. He set the bowl down on the dresser, pouring a dose of the medication and holding it to Mary’s lips.

“Sleep aid. It’s the closest thing to morphine that Sherlock’s allowed to have on hand,” he said in response to her raised eyebrow. “I suggest you drink it, this is going to hurt quite a bit.”

Suburban psychological thriller

After John moves in with Mary again, one of Sherlock's fans becomes obsessed with the idea that Mary is faking her pregnancy to save her marriage. They start trying to "warn" John off her with increasingly distraught messages. Initially John and Mary are so distracted by the Moriarty problem that they don't notice, until some scary things start to happen. Dealing with this new issue helps John and Mary rebuild their trust in each other.

John really likes Sherlock, but he's not sure he should move in with an Omega (Sherlock is one). He's worried that things can be stressful for both of them.

Sherlock, however, tells him that it won't be a problem since his body doesn't work right and he's never had a heat at all, not a single one. He has some medical condition and his hormones prevent him from being a proper Omega, and the therapy didn't work either (not that Sherlock minds. His nature doesn't distract him from really important things, he doesn't really want a relationship or family anyway, so he's perfectly fine with his condition).

So they start living together. But John's hormones start affecting Sherlock eventually. Not right away, but, gradually, something changes in Sherlock's body. And one day he goes into heat, the very first one.

I'd love him to really freak out about it, maybe even have a panic attack. He's absolutely terrified of his body.

John tries his best to soothe him and control his own instincts that tell him to take the virgin Omega immediately.

Apparently, John is the reason Sherlock's body has healed itself. Maybe Sherlock started feeling both physical and emotional attraction towards John and it triggered his change in the first place.

I want John topping Sherlock like how they usually do but because of [reasons - maybe Sherlock's feeling trapped or he's experiencing a flashback or something is triggering him] and Sherlock breaks down and begs "please John, can we please stop?".

Sherlock doesn't want to talk about it and his only explanation is that he doesn't feel comfortable with what they're doing.

And because I seem to have developed a big brother kink:
Sherlock runs to his big brother and has a real, genuine cry and he blames Mycroft, because it's his fault for not saving Sherlock from the bad guys who took him and hurt him. And Sherlock also blames Mycroft for lying to him - "you told me it would end" but even though the torture ended, Sherlock's still suffering from flashbacks.

Mycroft comforts his little brother, he's heartbroken at the pain Sherlock is in but he doesn't regret his actions and they BOTH know that if they were in the situation again, Mycroft wouldn't have done anything different because it was for the greater good and Sherlock was a necessary sacrifice. Sherlock falls asleep curled up next to Mycroft because despite everything, that's where he feels safe. Though not in an incestuous way, thank you.

Prompt: John's married and no longer works or has frequent contact with Sherlock. So, now that you're properly terrified, I'd love it if someone could give me a fic in which Mummy and Daddy really wanted a boy. I mean really wanted. And they were prepared to have one too cause the Holmes family doesn't not get what it wants. Que little girl Mycroft being born. Good thing Mummy and Daddy have found out that very little cannot be changed with enough money and power. The person/people that deliver little Mycroft are paid off/coerced/whatever you like and it's put on his birth certificate "boy."

And then all of the horrible stuff after that happens. Forced body modification, "training" to be a boy, re-education so that he likes girls (a gay heir would be even worse!), and so on and so forth.

For double angst, you could have it that they wanted a boy because they like little boys. (Thus adding some Sherlock abuse in there too.)

As for the aftermath, I'd really like it if Mycroft was very...Mycroft about it. By the time he's gotten over his brainwashing enough to realize that this is way more than a bit not good, he has his place in the world that would be disrupted if he went back, the scandal would drag the Holmes name in the mud...including his and Sherlock's, and just him being very pragmatic about it all that (at least on the outside) he maintains his male image.

(I say "he" throughout this since I leave it up to the author if Mycroft mentally starts viewing himself as a female, has always identified as his birth-gender but pretended otherwise, or if he's been so brainwashed, he doesn't know how else to identify than as a male. Or maybe he's gender fluid? Whatever you like.)

I mean no offense with this prompt, I know this is a touchy subject, on many different fronts. If you're wondering where the hell this even came from, it's sort of a twist on a Law & Order episode and a horror movie.

(I saw Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince again today and this bit made me want to prompt. Please forgive me that it's a little long and rambly. It's late and I'm unwell. I had to look the quote up as well so sorry if it's a little wrong.)

"The student who gave me Francis... A spring afternoon I discovered a bowl on my desk, just a few inches of clear water in it. Floating on the surface was a flower petal... as I watched, it sank... just before it reached the bottom, it was transformed, into a wee fish. It was beautiful magic, wondrous to behold. The flower petal had come from a lily... your mother. The day I came downstairs, the day the bowl was empty, was the day your mother..."

Mycroft (a muggle that liaises with the Minister of Magic) comes into his office one morning to find a fish-bowl on his desk. The magic happens as described. It turns out it was a gift from Sherlock while he was at Hogwarts. He thought his brother could do with a friend... and maybe rub it in that he was a wizard and Mycroft wasn't.

Many years down the line, Reichenbach happens more or less as BBC canon states and it looks like Sherlock is really dead.

The fish in the bowl doesn't disappear. (Mycroft is aware that after death, the individual's magic ceases to exist except in a few notable cases...)

This is the only sign Mycroft gets that Sherlock is still alive and out there.

What does Mycroft do next?

1000 points to your Hogwarts house if you can make a story out of this not so great prompt. An extra 150 points if you make Sherlock a Hufflepuff (he is rather loyal and unafraid of toil after all, even though he seems far from patient) because I don't think I've ever came across a fic where he's in that house yet. :)

The Dread Pirate Lestrade never leaves captives alive... because he can't be arsed to take (or kill) them in the first place. He and his crew will storm in, grab anything interesting or valuable-looking that isn't nailed down, and take off, throwing back (if necessary) enough air and water to keep their victims alive until they can call for help and have it arrive. After all, how can you build a reputation if nobody's ever heard of you?

Ship's doctor (and second mate?) John Watson realized early on that he was always going to be short and have a foul temper. So he made himself very, very good with blaster and sword (when a stray shot can vent to space or damage the circuitry in the walls, melee weapons make a great comeback).

Bonuses:
- Sally Donovan, Boatswain.
- Nobody knows quite *what* is going on with Dr. Watson, his wife Mary (of whatever rank), and coxswain Sherlock Holmes, but there's speculation and to spare.
- Mrs. Hudson is either the ship's purser or the owner/operator of a free port station.
- Moriarty is either a rival pirate or attempting to organize other space pirates into, well, organized crime. The various denizens of the good ship whatever-you-want-to-call-it took to the stars in order to avoid that sort of petty and/or wide-reaching authority.
- The crew discover a map to where nonpirates buried treasure for fear of pirate raids, and it would be such a pity to disappoint them.

So I just reread Match (http://archiveofourown.org/works/721843) by emungere, and can't help wondering what would happen either

(a) down the line when John meets Sherlock and is confronted with Lestrade again. I'm seeing the first nightmare or flashback the night they first 'met' in SiP, and maybe the nightmares get worse the more they work together. Lestrade doesn't hint to the fact that he knows John from his Uni days, but eventually Sherlock picks up the fact that there is some sort of awkward tension between them. Bonus if he thinks it is due to the fact that John and Lestrade slept together in the past, and is terribly jealous over it.

and/or:

(b) if, AU or an AU, it was Uni!Sherlock in the same situation. Obviously Sherlock wouldn't be on the rugby team, but maybe he went to a party with the intention of collecting data by sleeping with several different people, but as the night went on, things got out of control.

I just have this image of tiny!Sherlock being dumped by Mycroft after his failed attempts at cloning and the two Sherlocks immediately arguing over who loves John most, who hates Mycroft more, who wears the purple shirt of sex best, you know, the usual stuff. (John has to wonder how a man not half a foot tall managed to acquire a wardrobe far more stylish than his own.) Eventually, they realize it's rather nice to speak with someone who's not a complete idiot or Mycroft and resolve their differences.

Alternative: Pocketlock is a gift from Mycroft from before John so that his little brother would finally have a friend. They both grow rather fond of the doctor once they meet him.
