Prompting Part XXXV
GUIDELINES
- Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.
- Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D
- Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.
- RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.
- Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.
THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).
If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.
Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.
WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.
Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.
That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.
You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.
Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!
THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.
PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

Things We Don't Say 5/?
(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 09:03 am (UTC)(link)In fact, she wasn’t entirely sure that she could even stand.
But every minute that she spent lying here was another minute that the man pictured in the manila folder Mycroft handed her would get closer to harming either Sherlock or John…or both. And she would never forgive herself if something happened to her boys.
Struggling back into a sitting position with a groan, Mary swung her legs out of the bed, noticing that her shoes had been taken off for her at some point the previous night. As she tentatively pushed herself to her feet, she couldn’t help her whine of pain as her shoulder strained with the weight.
Sherlock was in the doorway in a second, phone still pressed to his ear and eyes narrowed as he looked her over.
“What do you think you’re doing? Lie down. John will be here in a few moments.”
Mary pressed her lips together to resist the huff of irritation that wanted to escape.
“Sherlock. I’m fine. I’m going home, and you can tell John that he can meet me there if he wishes to. If you would be so kind as to find me a bandage, I’ll wrap this back up and be out of your hair.”
Sherlock stalked into the room, placed a finger in the center of her chest, and gave her a gentle shove.
Mary lost her balance, sitting down hard on the bed in surprise as Sherlock resumed his pacing in the bedroom.
“Yes, she’s still here. No, I’m not letting her leave,” Sherlock relayed into the phone, his tone bored but his eyes flashing. “Yes, still bleeding. I really don’t think she’ll go to a hospital…”
Mary shot him a glare, and Sherlock made a face.
“No, hospital is definitely out. Do hurry, John. She looks like she’s about to try and kill me, and I don’t want her to injure herself further by attempting to do so.”
“Great lousy sod, you are,” Mary muttered, and Sherlock gave her a sickeningly sweet smile.
“Yes, the door is unlocked. I’m in the bedroom with her.”
Mary let out a sigh as she heard the door downstairs open. Sherlock hung up his phone, slipping it back into a pocket as footsteps sounded on the stairs. A few seconds later John was kneeling on the bed beside her, pressing her back into the pillows as Sherlock dug through the bag that he’d brought with him to pull out a bottle of what she could only guess was morphine.
“Did you steal that from work?” she asked, trying not to wince too visibly as John moved her shoulder to examine it.
“Borrowed. I have every intention of giving it back, and paying for what I use. Hold still.”
“Ow! Be gentle!”
“Thought you said it didn’t hurt,” John mumbled, rotating her shoulder slightly to get a better look and ignoring her growl of pain.
“I lied.”
“Mm. Thought we had an agreement on that,” he mused.
The tone was light enough, but the set of his face told her that he wasn’t joking.
“Yes, I thought we did,” she replied cuttingly, sending a distinct look in Sherlock’s direction before focusing back on John.
Her husband’s jaw tightened, but he once again left off his line of questioning as she turned the blame equally back on him.
“Yes, it looks infected, I’m going to have to clean it out again.”
“Let me.” The words came out a lot sharper than Mary had hoped, but right now she couldn’t be arsed to care. She took a steadying breath to quell the panic that burned in her ribcage and said more gently, “It’s fine, John, let me clean it out. I know what I’m doing.”
John’s eyebrows were pinched together in a way that suggested he was either suspicious or very worried, and Mary couldn’t be sure which.
“No, really,” John started, taking her wrist. Mary tried not to flinch as thoughts flashed back to her of being pinned helplessly, the sight of sharp tools and glistening blood. “I think it’s better if I-“
“John.”
They both looked up as Sherlock spoke, arms crossed over his chest and leaning against the door frame, gaze focused off somewhere in the other room.
