Slavery AU

A slavery AU based off the quote "The elephant is not particularly sagacious in the wild state, but becomes so when tamed. The fox directly the contrary, and likewise the wolf."

A lot of slave!fic have the slave eventually submitting to the master, but not everyone can submit. So a master character (Mycroft or Sherlock preferred) tries to 'break' the slave they secretly love because then everything will be nice and settled and they can move forward with the relationship. But not everyone is breakable, sometimes they just go away somewhere in their head or go feral. The master realises their mistake and has to h/c their slave unless they want to lose them for good.

John and Bill Murray from the Army are epic bros totes confortable with their masculinity. So when they see each other, they hug and cuddle, use manly pet names and tell each other they love each other. When Sherlock is confused why John has his head on a man's shoulder while said MAN'S FIANCE IS PRESENT John calmly explain that he and Bill both come from affectionate families and that they're comfortable with their platonic love for each other. Sherlock is suddenly in the awkward position of wanting John to tell him 'I love you' too without it sounding like a romantic come on. (And angsting along the lines of Why doesn't John want to be affectionate with me? 8[) So Sherlock, John and Bill wander around with Sherlock kind of following them staring meaningly at John trying to drop a hint.

Sherlock in the Concrete Jungle

I'd like to see a fic detailing Sherlock's life as a young adult in London, at a time where getting another hit was more of a priority than shelter or food. I haven't seen an in-depth version of this (though I'm very open to RTYI's). I want to see how that brilliant but reckless mind interacts with and manipulates the grittier parts of the city.

I'd imagine that he'd spend a lot of time squatting in different places, sleeping in parking lots, maybe trying as hard as he can to keep under Mycroft's radar. He would even be young enough to pass as a university student if he found a place to sleep on campus without being caught. He might have conditioned himself to go without food for a time, not because he couldn't afford it but because he didn't want to 'waste' the money on it (or risk making himself visible to CCTV by walking into a grocery store) which contributes to the strange eating habits he has in the series. And maybe his sleeping hours were even worse -- even if you manage to fall asleep in that situation, how could you fully invest your trust in the type of company you keep? I'd be thrilled to read a piece that examines how living day to day like this would be for someone like Sherlock.

Based more on the movie with Tim Curry than on the board game.

Sherlock, John, Lestrade, Sally, Molly, Dimmock, and Moriarty are all invited to a mysterious Mr Body's manor. Each is given a package containing a pseudonym, a weapon, and evidence of the blackmail Mr Body has over everyone. The power goes out, a struggle occurs, and when the lights come back on, Mr Body is dead.

Chaos ensues.

John complains about having to be Miss Scarlet, and Moriarty (as Professor Plum) says, "Don't look at me; this wasn't my idea," after a pointed glare from Sherlock.

Sherlock and John versus the worst man in the world. He rapes, blackmails, steals, cheats, and swindles - and he murders people in the most horrific ways. The world is a worse place in every way with him in it. And he's too smart to ever leave any evidence of his crimes - the police are helpless.

So Sherlock and John kill him. There is no negotiation, no struggle, no desperate act of self-defense - they break into his house (or do whatever you want to have them do) with the express purpose of killing him, and they do it.

Bonus points for Lestrade and his crew turning a blind eye, and Mycroft telling a secretly conflicted Sherlock that he's proud of him.

The "victim" doesn't have to be a man. Basically any non-established character will do.

"Sherlock, run!" John shouts, as he lunges forward and latches himself onto Moriarty's neck, though only to be met with a maniacal chuckle that he feels all the way down to the very center of his brain through his eardrums and shooting through his veins from where he feels Moriarty's neck shift against his arms.

"O- ho! Good!" Moriarty's voice sends another live wire through John's veins, with sparks at every opportunity as well as chills running up his spine. "Very good!" Moriarty laughs all the way, and it's nothing short of nightmarish.

"Your sniper," John hisses, his voice a whisper and nearly a snarl as he squeezes Moriarty's neck just a bit harder, presses just a bit further, "pulls that trigger, Mr. Moriarty, then we both go up."

"Isn't he sweet, I can see why you like having him around, but then..." Moriarty speaks to Sherlock, now, ever so casually, which makes it ever so much more formidable. "People do get so sentimental about their pets." He cracks his neck obscenely, twisting his head every which way, with obscenely wide, wild eyes.

John's arm tightens around Moriarty's neck and Sherlock's finger stiffens as it presses against the trigger of the gun he has trained on the clever, consulting criminal. Still, he carries on talking.

"And, adorable, oh, isn't he?" Moriarty releases another hearty chuckle- not solely high or low pitched but sliding between the two. "Like... hmm, like a kitten. Sherlock, you've got yourself a nice little pet kitten. Oh, how lovely!"

John thinks, then, that he may be overreacting and it may not truly matter in the slightest, but it's just a bit objectifying, to him, at least, just a small bit. He will not have himself thought of as an animal- a kitten, no less! With blazing eyes he tries to communicate this silently to Sherlock, who then lets out a small breath through parted lips and shifts his eyes from John to Moriarty and holds the glare.

"Oh, you are, don't be like that, Johnny boy. So cute I could just..." There's somewhat of a twinkle in Moriarty's eyes; he looks positively gleeful, and it's simply not fair. On his lips sits the most smug smirk John has ever seen, and he speaks his next words with more joy than ever should a criminal have. "...eat you up."

Suddenly, Moriarty's face explodes into something horrid with a high-pitched shriek, and before John sees or is even sure of what is happening, he's flinging himself back and away with his arms flailing and his feet struggling for purchase on the concrete floor, because, oh god, what is that thing?

Moriarty's mouth has stretched to encompass half his head, with teeth like daggers and a forked tongue waving around this way and that. As John stares, gaping, between this display and Sherlock, Sherlock looks the epitome of someone horrified. Panicking, he shoots, but the bullet does nothing at all as it lodges itself in Moriarty's chest.

Music rings out through the pool, echoing and absolutely obscene, considering the situation. And, just as he'd changed into whatever the hell he even is, he morphs in an instant back into the small, creepy man that John had certainly not, in the five or so minutes they'd known each other, imagined to ever be content with.

He fishes his mobile from his suit pocket and brings it swiftly to his ear. The music quickly is replaced by the sound of his voice, still terrifyingly casual. "...Well, right then... Ah, terrific idea, absolutely terrific... Lovely speaking to you, boss."

"Well, Sherlock Holmes, John Watson. Looks like it's not quite your time to die. Oh, but how delicious you both will be, someday." He's hung up the phone, and now gives Sherlock and John an amused look before turning on his heels. He takes the few steps needed to reach the side of the pool, turns his back on it, crosses one leg over the other, and gives an exaggerated salute and he falls backward into the water, dissolving into black waves that spread throughout the pool before they dissolve. He's gone.

Sherlock and John can do nothing but gape at each other, still panicking, as they numbly remove the bombs from John's coat.

big fat 20th century AU

Watson as a young solider in the First World War, Holmes as a jaded spy in the Second, they meet and Holmes spews his deductions about John in the trenches, the two of them kicking it in Hemingway's Paris circa 1927, the build up to war in Britain in the thirties, the denial, the Blitz. Holmes foreseeing the war. The aftermath. Mycroft. I don't even know, I just really, really want to see Sherlock and John in World War mode.

I'm currently working on a casefic set in Berlin in summer '29. I haven't a good track record of actually finishing fics and I'm a slow writer, though, sorry. So basically just answering to say: I'm totally obsessed by the idea and loving it.

Mycroft was a bit wary of John at first, but after John sorta saved Sherlock's life from that evil cabbie AND John offered to sacrifice himself to save Sherlock at The Pool (which of course Mycroft knows about cause he's a spying BAMP), -not to mention all the stuff that John does for Sherlock all the time-, Mycroft decides that John really needs to stick around.

So anytime Mycroft thinks there's even the slightest chance that John might move out of good ol' 221b (or just be away for an unacceptable period of time), he interferes in whatever Mycroftian way he sees fit to make sure John stays right where he is.

But, it turns out Mycroft never really had anything to worry about. Because John loves being exactly where he is, right?
