+Please do not re-post prompts unless the last time they were prompted was on an older part. Simply put: ONE posting of each prompt per part.
+RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

+re: hijacking.

Please refrain from hijacking a prompt. Hijacking may be defined as responding to a prompt by taking a portion of it and adding your own ideas about what should be added, changed or eliminated. In addition, commenting with off topic jokes or chatter.

By hijacking, the focus of the prompt can be lost, and inappropriate threads created. By doing this fillers may be discouraged which is something no one wants to experience.

If a prompt leads you to an original idea, please create your own prompt. The chatter or love posts are the proper places to share jokes or talk about prompts that have inspired you.

It wasn’t much of a stretch of the imagination for John to take his hand from Sherlock’s forearm, resting gently on the arm of the sofa, and place it right in that niche where his slender neck met his broad back and rub his thumb in gentle circles. Indeed it was quite easy to fantasize about and then he suddenly found it quite easy to do. He marveled at his own audacity and waited with baited breath for the detective’s protests.

Sherlock didn’t look away from his programme. Didn’t even turn his brilliantly cool eyes toward the presumptuous doctor and his wandering digits. For the next half hour, John’s thumb wiled away at that singular spot on Sherlock’s body until Sherlock abruptly got up and went to do something else as he was wont to do at any moment’s notice.

John never knew it would be so easy.

The next time he felt it prudent to meet his skin to his flatmate’s, they stood over a crime scene that truly upset him and John let his fingers that dangled so carelessly at his side brush against the elegant ones of Sherlock who stared, scrutinizing, at the haphazardly sprawled body. The one of the toddler who, for all the world knew, was dozing peacefully on the scrappy floor of the abandoned cigar shop.

When he didn’t flinch away, John wrapped his calloused hand around the slender, surprisingly smooth one. They stood like that for a bit and John imagined that the child was indeed sleeping and he was less terribly shaken at this tragic spot of indecency on the face of the world. He felt Sherlock’s strong warmth against his palm until their time with the body was up and Lestrade re-entered the room to hear Sherlock’s take on the situation. At his presence John slipped his hand into his pocket at casually as he knew how.

Sherlock said nothing.

One day there wasn’t a case and Sherlock found an experiment (something more to do with that head, John speculated, as it still resided in their fridge) to keep him from becoming horribly bored and 221 B Baker Street had a quiet lull about it. John mulled around the flat for a while, pretending to write a new blog when just pecking pathetically at his laptop, really, and then making tea time and time again.

“It won’t work,” said Sherlock.

“What do you mean?”

“You’re bored, my dear Watson, and nothing you can think to do will cure it,” announced the detective from his chemistry set.

“You come up with something, then, if you’re such an expert at staving off boredom,” John snapped back at his smug friend.

“I have faith in your little brain,” replied Sherlock simply, picking at a dubious looking scrap of material with tweezers and placing it in a beaker.

John glared at his unaffected friend in vain. Eventually the futile exercise wore on him and he surmised his only course of action from there. He had to satiate the nagging curiosity that had been building up for weeks now and learn exactly how those sinfully curved lips felt against his own.
