Fairy Tale Fusion - John's Three Betrayals sort of spoilers for series 2

There's a fairy tale I was told when I was little where a man saved a little bird while he was traveling who then turned into a woman and said she would be faithful and true to him always, all he had to do was keep three secrets of hers. She travels with him, generally putting up with him and being the best companion ever as he eventually tells her three secrets to different people (not all at the same time of course) without really thinking about it, because she'd never leave him. She puts up with everything he does after all. But after he tells her third secret he comes home to find that she's gone and he never sees her again.

I couldn't help thinking of that as I've watched John during series 2. (Not that John's a woman :)) So somehow John either tells Sherlock three secrets, which Sherlock eventually reveals; or Sherlock simply betrays John in three other ways and John disappears. Level of fusion/magical realism up to the filler.

You know even though Mycroft has surveillance cameras everywhere in London but whenever there's trouble, especially in fanfics, he's never there to intervene. I wish to read something where Mycroft catches on his surveillance camera that Sherlock is getting in deep trouble by a gang of crooks who have the intention to beat/kidnap/rape him, whatever the reason.

Mycroft won't stand for this and not only sends his best men out to help but he goes out there himself. To make sure he arrives just on time and inflect the harm to those who dared to hurt his baby brother.

This does contain spoilers for 'The Skin I Live In' so maybe pass it over if you plan on watching. I'm also unsure about my warnings are sufficient, but it's also hard to warn without spoiling...

Sherlock is kidnapped by Moriarty who performs a sex change on him. Eventually some time after the operation Sherlock kills Morarity and escapes, returning to 221B to John.
(Maybe after Reichenbach, John thinks they're both gone when neither are?)

I'm basically looking for a story after all this when Sherlock has to adjust to everything that's happened with bucketloads of S/J hurt/comfort!

(I also don't mind if you switch John and Sherlock up)

John is a bit pissed for the experiment Sherlock has pulled on him at the lab and vows to get revenge by pulling a major prank that will scare Sherlock somehow just so he can have a taste of his own medicine.

His first few tries fail miserably as Sherlock sees right through them but John doesn't give up.

Then he comes up with a brilliant prank with some help (from Mycroft?) and it works. Sherlock becomes terrified and panics.

What John didn't account for is that it really hurt Sherlock and feels betrayed that John would do something so cruel to him. John at first is surprised considering the thing Sherlock pulled back in the lab. Sherlock argues that it was for the sake of the case while John did something with the only intention of scaring him.

John still doesn't understand until he realizes Sherlock just doesn't deal with emotions the same way he does and doesn't take the sense 'betrayal' (depending how cruel the prank was) as well as John does.

tl;dr John pulls a prank to get back to Sherlock at what he did to him at the lab but ends up really hurting Sherlock in turn.

Sherlock is happy with John and Mycroft is happy with Lestrade, but sometimes they like to switch things up a bit. John and Lestrade are both happy with their respective Holmes, but sometimes John likes to be swept off his feet and sometimes Lestrade likes to do the romancing himself, so they don’t mind.

After John goes off to talk to the therapist post-fireplace scene, Sherlock calls Mycroft, still in a state. Mycroft is pretty irritable about being bothered in the middle of the night by the little brother who stole his ID and used it gain illegal access to a military base, but is as comforting as he can be. Hearing Sherlock so distressed is what eventually gets him to allow a 24 investigation window.

Ok, so we all know Sherlock thought the drug was in the sugar so gave it to John in the coffee deliberately.
But my first thought when I saw that scene was that Sherlock had just made John coffee the way he likes coffee (in the way a six year old will give you something 'delicious' without thinking about maybe you wont like it) and I thought it was ADORABLE.

So...Sherlock tries to apologise to John for something (either drugging post-Hound or just random) by providing him with nice food/drink or doing nice things for him. Unfortunately, these are all Sherlock's idea of 'nice' which doesn't neccessarily match John's.

AN: So I've had this pinned for a while hoping that someone would fill it because it is such an amazing prompt. However, the must called out to me so I had to write up something! I hope it's what you were looking for anon! Also, written rather quickly, so please forgive any little mistakes.

Sherlock Holmes was frustrated. He was frustrated because every avenue he ventured down turned out to be wrong with this stupid, bloody case. He had originally thought that Henry was just delusional and making up this story. Then he thought that there wasn’t actually a hound.

Now, he had seen the Hound with his own eyes, but he couldn’t figure out how he saw it.
He had seen the Hound that night. It was huge, twice the size of any normal dog and ferocious looking. It had large, glowing red eyes. It looked half-demonic. Sherlock had seen it. He was sure of it.

However, there was no possible way that hound could exist.

Yes, he had told John that after everything was eliminated, all that remained—however improbably—had to be the truth. Normally that was true, but it wasn’t in this case. It couldn’t be. There had to be a logical explanation to this.

He had thought of the sugar that Henry had in his home. Both Sherlock and Henry had taken sugar with their coffee while John hadn’t. It explained why John didn’t see anything and also why Henry was the only one to ever truly see this hound.

He had been planning on trying out an experiment on John, but Henry didn’t have any sugar left. The idiot had used it all this morning in his coffee so Sherlock had been forced to try and find the original source of whatever drug was in the sugar.

A hallucinogenic drug was the only logical conclusion that could be drawn.

This was how Sherlock found himself walking through the abandoned corridors of Baskerville. He had to call Mycroft and negotiate with him to get twenty-four hours alone in the facility. Mycroft had wanted to give them warning but Sherlock was adamant that no one within Baskerville could know that Sherlock was coming in, otherwise they could get rid of the drug and any evidence of said drug.
Sherlock had had every person within the building escorted out while he sent John in and double check the work—he trusted John more than anyone else and needed to make sure that everyone was truly out of the building.

Now he was alone wandering through the building. John had gone up to the top-most floor to look for anything to do with animal research, particularly mutation, or that bit with the glowing rabbit. Sherlock headed down to the large lab they had first toured because he knew what he was looking for.

Sherlock keyed into the lab and looked around, taking in the covered cages and the extreme whiteness that was everywhere. He couldn’t really believe that this was how it normally looked, but he had to go with what he saw, what was right in front of him. So he took a moment to take in the things he could see from his post by the door.

Unknown to Sherlock, Dr. Franklin had hid while they cleared everyone from the building and snuck into the Major’s office to watch the events unfold. He had wanted to test out the effects of the drug in a more humane setting, with a new subject and realized that fate had just handed him such an opportunity. Just as long as Sherlock went into his personal experiment cupboard.

Sherlock took a few steps forward, still cataloging everything he was seeing. The bright overhead lights shut off. He didn’t give them much thought because he could still see perfectly well thanks to the dim lights around the room.

He stood in the middle of the room and glanced to his left. He saw another exit door. There were more containers that were meant to hold some sort of living thing, but they were all empty. Like the everything else in this lab.

It was slightly disconcerting to see how empty this main lab was. It wasn’t that Sherlock was uneasy—he didn’t get uneasy—it was unprofessional, ordinary. He had more experiments lying around the flat than were present in this huge lab.

When Franklin steps on the mine as he's running from Sherlock et al, he doesn't step off. Rather, he stands still and begs someone to help him. John, being the only one who has any experience whatsoever with mines/IEDs, steps forward, dusts off some military explosives training, and is a total BAMF. Or sacrifices himself. Author's choice.

After seeing the explosion, John and Sherlock go back to their room, intending to go to bed.

Once the door is closed behind him, John has a terrible panic attack. Sherlock is at a loss and doesn't know what to do, because whenever he's panicked like that, no one ever did anything.

Does he try to comfort John? Or leave, in an attempt to give John privacy?

John is in unrequited love with Sherlock. Lestrade notices and the two of them end up as casual friends with benefits.

John always cries after sex because he wishes it was Sherlock. Lestrade never asks questions and kisses John's tears away.

Can be set after Hound (maybe that's the real reason Lestrade turned up) or after Reichenbach (which will probably break my heart) or floating in time as a non-sequitur of a story.

I'm terrible and love fics about John crying so yes I'm sorry.
