prompting part XXIII

All new prompts go on Part XXIV
Prompts from this post can be filled on the Overflow Post

IMPORTANT! Spoilers for aired episodes are now being allowed on this area of the meme, without warning. If you do not want to encounter spoilers, please prompt at our Spoiler-Free Prompt Post.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
+Anon posting is most definitely allowed, but not required.
+All kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance--whatever. Go wild! :D
+Keep things neat! Read prompts before you post to see if something similar has already been done, and while you are encouraged to prompt as much as you like, try to fill as well.
+Please do not re-post prompts unless the last time they were prompted was on an older part. Simply put: ONE posting of each prompt per part.
+RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.
+Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments.
+However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. Also at 7000, after the freeze a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.
+Multiple fills are encouraged! :) Just because a prompt has already been claimed or written by someone, do not be afraid to offer up a second fill.
+re: hijacking.

Please refrain from hijacking a prompt. Hijacking may be defined as responding to a prompt by taking a portion of it and adding your own ideas about what should be added, changed or eliminated. In addition, commenting with off topic jokes or chatter.

By hijacking, the focus of the prompt can be lost, and inappropriate threads created. By doing this fillers may be discouraged which is something no one wants to experience.

If a prompt leads you to an original idea, please create your own prompt. The chatter or love posts are the proper places to share jokes or talk about prompts that have inspired you.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
Put links to your fills here. There are instructions on the actual post. I ask that if the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, please make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort.
Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods would be happy to explain.

CONTACTING MODS
Your mods for this meme are [livejournal.com profile] snowishness, [livejournal.com profile] marill_chan and [livejournal.com profile] ellie_hell. If you have any questions, concerns, comments about anything at all on the meme feel free to send a PM or contact us via the Page-A-Mod post.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for triggery prompts (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.
You are highly encouraged to scroll right past a prompt that you dislike.

Remember, guys; Be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

Sherlock/IT crowd crossover - Roy's bad cousin Jim

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
like the idea that "Jim from IT." Got a few hints on how to 'act' like an IT guy from his cousin, Roy. The thing is Jim has always been a bad seed, setting cats on fire, running a protection racket in primary school... But he comes to Roy saying he's changed has a woman he wants to marry and wants to get an IT job. And he seems so nice and quiet...eager to learn... then months later Sherlock and John show up in disguise but not so disguised that Moss who LOVES the blog doesn't know them...

Of course it ends with Roy and Moss, drugged, tied up and Left to die but still. And Sherlock, John and errr Jenn have to save them LOL.

In Plain Sight

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Toward the end of the post-Fall 3 year period, Sherlock is sent to the U.S. under the protection of WitSec, specifically Mary Shannon and Marshall Mann. They react to Sherlock's unique personality in whatever way author thinks best and then take Sherlock back to London (and John), where Marshall immediately becomes a shipper.

Hounds spoiler: Sherlock & Mrs. Hudson

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock knows what he's saying will hurt Mrs. Hudson, but he also knows that if he doesn't tell her now she'll be even more upset later. He knows how upset she was when she found out her husband was up to no good, and he doesn't want to see her like that ever again. He just doesn't know how to tell her gently about Mr. Chatterjee's wife, so he pretends to be showing off and in the middle of nicotine withdrawal (which he is, but that's not important). So, when he comes back from Dartmoor, Sherlock does something nice for his favourite landlady.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Mycroft has a hard time saying "no" to his little brother.

(This is what was going through my mind when he let Sherlock talk him into getting into a high-security, confidential research facility)

H/C, Sherlock's-Brain-Is-Different Fic

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Dear Kinkmeme,

All I really want is some Sherlock/John hurt/comfort where the hurt is provided by Sherlock's very special brain. Or, alternatively, where a bad situation is made catastrophically worse by his special brain.

Seriously withdrawal symptoms in the absences of cases? Sensory overload in the presence of too many facts? Falling into a deductive trance at a very bad time? Memory deletion process gone awry? Near-madness caused by a sudden uptick in capacity for emotions? Any of these things, all of these things, other things. Also recommendations.

Needn't even be Sherlock/John! It could just be Sherlock-John friendship! Bonus points for John struggling to understand and/or thoughtfully asking those questions about Sherlock's state of mental and physical health that a doctor living with a medical anomaly probably would ask.

If anyone wants to do something long, I will fill a prompt of similar length for the author, or barring that, another lucky prompter. Thank you for your time.

Mini-fill: "Better Stimuli" (1/2)

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
(Disclaimer: I have never had a panic attack, nor have I been to Marylebone Station. All details herein are the product of my imagination and Internet research.)

"I need a case, John," said Sherlock, drumming his fingers on the desk, one hand slightly out of sync with the other. "Find me one."

John glanced up from his laptop. "You were working on a case an hour ago. What happened to that one?"

"The brooch was stolen on the Tube, at Marylebone Station. I won't go there."

"Why not?"

"Crowds in enclosed spaces. I can't abide crowds."

"I'll come with you."

There was a moment of stillness, the moment for Sherlock to decide whether John's presence at his side would be enough for him to step beyond his boundaries.

Without a word, Sherlock stood and went to the door. John followed. It was a short walk to Marylebone Station, and in the morning July's heat was not yet unpleasant.

The station was grand and lovely at street level, but when they got into the Underground it became narrower and dingier. John let Sherlock use his Oyster card and stayed close. The morning rush hour was past its peak, but still going strong. John was beginning to see its effect on Sherlock.

He couldn't seem to keep focus; his eyes darted everywhere, catching at the hems and sleeves of people walking by. His pupils were too wide, and sweat was beading along his hairline. John thought of all the times Sherlock had rattled off deductions based on tiny details of makeup, hair, and clothing. Such a large crowd in such a small space must be a flood of data, mundane facts of a thousand lives practically shouting at him.

John gripped Sherlock's shoulder and steered him toward a wall, at the edges of the river of humanity flowing through the Underground. Maybe he could get Sherlock to focus on the case, instead of on everything else at once. "Where was the brooch stolen?"

Sherlock leaned the side of his head against the wall, and John realized he was doing it to block his ear. His pale grey eyes were shut, and his other shoulder kept twitching up, perhaps to try and cover the other ear. Sensory overload, John realized with a sinking feeling. Mind-bending puzzles and mortal danger weren't overstimulating for Sherlock, but an unending crowd of people, spitting data at Sherlock just by the fact of their existence, was simply too much.

John remembered panic attacks he'd had on the Tube when he first came back from Afghanistan. This wasn't quite the same, but there were some principles in common. Sherlock needed to be grounded. He reached up, took both of Sherlock's shoulders, and leaned toward him. "Sherlock. Listen to me. You can hear my voice, can't you?"

"John," Sherlock said. It was the sound of a man grasping a lifeline.

He firmed the pressure on Sherlock's shoulders. People were staring over their shoulders at the two of them. John didn't care. "Sherlock, I need you to open your eyes for me."

"Can't. Too much."

John leaned closer. "When you open your eyes, the only thing you'll see will be my face. Focus on that. Nothing else."

Sherlock's eyes opened. The pupils were dilated, reducing the irises to rings of silver. As he stared at John, his pupils slowly contracted. His breath came at first as sharp gusts of air on John's face, until they evened out to a steady rhythm, little pulses of breath against John's cheek.

Everything's Better With Daemons!

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
It is my believe that Mycroft's daemon is either some great big stalking cat or a spider. Lestrade's is... I dunno, a wolf?

I have little creativity anons, bear with me.

But what I really want is a HDM fusion with Mystrade. Have we have we had that yet? If so, by all means, hurl the RTYIs in this direction. :D

“Sherlock, get back on the lift, now!”

“Listen to them! They’re making music! Aren’t you the least bit curious? What’s its purpose? Is it a programmed response, or are they actually sentient guns? Oh I wish I had my violin here, I want to see how they would respond to added harmonies.”

“The crazy robot told us to leave, and that’s what we’re going to do. I am sick and tired of being down here and I want to get back to London.”

“John, not five minutes ago you held a gun in your hands that can rip holes in time and space and you want to go back to the cozy little flat and drink your tea and write on your blog? This is real science here, real invention! And all they want to do is test things!”

“And kill you.”

“Yes, well that’s why we have to be clever about it.”

“Sherlock, what about Henry’s case? You want to leave a case unsolved like that?”

“Frankland did it.”

“What?”

“Yes, somehow. He used the word ‘cell phone’ and gave Henry some sort of drug. I put sugar in your coffee. It’s not important now. Do you think the targeting systems for the turrets are permanently disabled, or does it alternate between a ‘music’ and a ‘guard’ setting?”

“What did you do to my coffee?”

“We’ve moved past that John, try to keep up. See if you can find a glowing rabbit and a Companion Cube. We’ve got some more tests to run!”

After The Fall

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
After Reichenbach, John cannot bring himself to write up his final blog post.
He goes back through every tiny case that he has ever been on with Sherlock, the ones that he has skipped on his blog, and he writes those instead.
Until, months- or perhaps a year later- there is only one case that he has not written about.

It's up to the writer whether or not he makes up new, fake cases to stave off the inevitable, or if he bites the bullet and reports.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
I think this was prompted earlier somewhere, but I can't find it now.

John and Sherlock get together, are having sex, all seems fine. Sherlock eventually reveals or whatever some sort of daddy!kink, which John is pretty ok with. It's hot as hell and if Sherlock wants to be called a "dirty boy" while being fucked, who's he to complain?

Then, somehow, he finds out that Sherlock's father sexually abused him.

Committing London to memory

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock's knowledge of London's traffic signs was not something he learned recently.
Of course he keeps it up to date, but he first started it at age 3, reading the signs the car went by.
Unfortunately, this memory is linked with the one of the children songs and rhymes Mycroft sang to him from the other rear seat.

"I love how 'sentiment' is starting to be the go-to reasoning behind anything Sherlock doesn't get. It's certainly a fair guess:

'So wait Sherlock, why did she keep her old jewelry?'
'Sentiment.'

'Sherlock, how do you know the sister was the arsonist?'
'Um...sentiment.

'Sherlock, why is the bathtub filled with fish scales?'
'...er...sentiment?'"

So, yeah. That's the prompt. Sherlock starts blaming everything on sentiment, especially when he doesn't understand why something is wrong.
