Prompting Part XXXV

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

Your mods for this meme are [ profile] ellie_hell, [ profile] charname, [ profile] anonspock and [ profile] anonbach. If you have any questions, concerns, comments about anything at all on the meme feel free to send a PM or contact us via the Page-A-Mod post.

Honey seduction

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
John has sore throat and Sherlock researches that tea and honey are recommended so he gives John breakfast in bed (MrsHudson?) dressed in his usual bedsheet, tells John about the tea and there's tea on John's tray but no honey, John ask where's the honey then Sherlock removes his sheet, says 'right here' then squeeze/pour honey all over himself...

John decks Sherlock after a nightmare

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
John has one of his nightmares. Sherlock hears the noise and comes up to his room to wake him up. John doesn't react well to being touched and/or having someone looming over him and/or shouting at him, though, and manages to deck Sherlock a good one (or otherwise injure him). John feels terrible about it afterwards.

+1 if there's either no prior relationship or their relationship is new and they haven't worked out the kinks yet (hence why John is still used to sleeping alone)

+10 if Sherlock pretty much deserved to be punched

+100 if John's feeling terrible leads to something angsty, romantic, or smutty :-D

FILLED (1/2)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
((Warnings: un-beta'd, scientifically dodgy, written in a rush, broken nose.))

Sherlock was increasing the acidity of a chemical compound when he heard the dull thump from upstairs. He didn’t pay much mind to it, preoccupied as he was by how corrosive this particular solution had to be in order to damage the bronze hinges of the wardrobe as much as it had seemingly done. By all accounts, John was just exorcising his pre-bedtime cup of tea.

He continued until he found the levels of the elements that perfectly matched the aforementioned damage (25mg hydrogen; 10mg chlorine) and left the kitchen to find his phone. It was only once he got out of the kitchen that he realised that John hadn’t made any more sound, save for that one thump.

He closed his eyes, running through the possibilities. No smashing sound – no struggles – window was never open – sound was too soft to be anything hard or heavy – John didn’t fall out of bed – sound was too soft to even be –

“Something that hit the floor,” Sherlock finished aloud. “John’s having a nightmare.”

At that moment, what sounded like a tortured scream ripped through the flat, albeit muffled by the division between their rooms and the rest of the flat. Snatching up the phone and sliding it in his pocket, Sherlock loped upstairs, following the whimpering sounds that were now coming from John’s room.

Without thinking, he pushed the handle down and almost slammed the door open. He was greeted with the half-lit sight of John writhing in the bed (albeit not in the way he’d imagined recently), fighting with the covers. Sherlock immediately swerved around the bed and to John’s side, crouching down to the mattress level and placing his hands on John’s shoulders.

“John!” he shouted, vigorously shaking him. “John!

John’s face was screwed up, deeply locked in his nightmare. He was still flailing, and Sherlock had to duck in order to avoid being hit by his limbs. He let go of John’s shoulders and decided to slap him once on both cheeks, not really knowing what else to do, since he couldn’t leave him in this state. The doctor’s eyes immediately flew open. Sherlock only saw a flash of something in them before a fist hit his face, stars exploding in his vision and pain rocketing through his face. He heard a muffled curse and a flurry of bedsheets. He touched his nose gingerly, hearing a crunching sound.

“Shit, Sherlock, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Fuck.” John was wide awake and gazing at the younger man, worry on his face.

“Unh,” Sherlock replied, inclining his head a few millimetres backwards.

John started. “Sherlock, you’ve got a broken nose. Don’t tip your head back.”

You broke my nose, you mean,” Sherlock muttered, voice sounding thick.
“Yes, alright, I broke your nose,” John sighed, running to the toilet and returning with wads of tissue paper. “Head forward and hold this to it. Back in a sec.”

John disappeared and Sherlock manoeuvred himself against the bed, pressing the wad of tissue to his nose. A sharp throbbing spread across that area, pulsing in duller waves across his cheekbones. Soon enough, he heard John return, turning the light on in the room.

“Move the tissues, let me take a look.”

Sherlock did as he was told and John placed a hand on the side of his face, ostensibly keeping his head stable so he could take a proper look at it. However, his fingertips were caressing Sherlock’s temples in a wordless apology. Sherlock raised his hand and lightly stroked forgiveness across John’s fingers.

Papa! Lestrade is tired of your shit, boys.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
It’s been a traumatic case, and Sherlock’s gone and gotten injured, albeit minorly. Everybody’s pretty exhausted, and reasonably blase about it. And of course Mycroft’s there, and he snarks at Sherlock for being careless.

But Lestrade’s nerves are completely shot to nothing by this point, and he is DONE. WITH EVERYTHING. Mycroft’s just the unfortunate soul that makes the one last comment that break’s Lestrade’s tenuous composure.

He kicks Mycroft out of the hospital. And then he kicks everyone else out of the hospital, because Sherlock has healing to do, goddamnit.

Then he drags himself home and tries not to throw up because he almost lost his Sherlock today. AGAIN.

Potterlock: Sherlock has Lestrade's stick.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Gregory Lestrade’s last name was originally Lestrange. He's been living in the muggle world for a very long time, after his father tried to kill him for refusing to serve the Dark Lord. The Ministry of Magic put him into a sort of protection program, enabling him to hide.

With most of his family dead and You-Know-Who defeated for the last time, Greg’s not fearing for his life anymore, and has mostly re-integrated into wizard society. There's a lot about the muggle world he wouldn't let go; his job, his phone, football, his 'muggle' name. But he’s got the delicate juggling of magic and mundane well handled now.

Then Sherlock pickpockets Lestrade's wand.

I'm not picky about pairings except for Mystrade, I'm not terribly fond of it. Otherwise, Sherstrade, Johnlock, gen, I don't mind. Up to anon.

At the age of eleven,

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Sherlock sort of accidentally became the center of a ring of software piracy at his school.

After all, the teachers didn't leave the manuals for the school's computers' programs out and about, and he'd never paid enough attention to the ones at home to realize that you weren't allowed to bring copies of more useful programs in on a disk and then make copies for all your friends-by-default (or copies for your own use of interesting ones that the school had)...

One married couple has an EXTREMELY open relationship.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
It could be the Lestrades, the Andersons, or the Watsons, but they'll come home and each tell the other about all the friends, acquaintances, and random strangers they shagged that day, either as foreplay or just over dinner. Maybe there's a great deal of overlap, whether as threesomes or consecutively or consecutively that they'd like to arrange a threesome with.

But in any case, they're perfectly happy, it works for them, and if it's either of the former two sets, Sherlock deduced the state of their marriage WRONGLY.

Bonus: it's both the Andersons *and* the Lestrades, and Mrs. Anderson is the PE teacher.

Sherlock and Mycroft are the Car Talk guys

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)

Sherlock & Victor

(Anonymous) 2014-04-12 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I just really want Victor and Sherlock hanging out during the show timeline. With Victor actually being a good friend and generally nice dude who goofs off with Sherlock (though he does find Sherlock's deduction a lot of fun, which tended to get them both in trouble in uni)and completely defends him.

An idea: Victor and Sherlock hanging out and Sherlock deducing women for Victor (like he did for Janine in the Sign of Three).

However you fill it, I'd prefer it to be gen. There's very few fics that actually have Victor and Sherlock as friends and not former lovers.

Sherlock, Sally, misunderstandings

(Anonymous) 2014-04-13 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock thinks that he and Sally are, if not friends, friendly acquaintances. They maintain and develop their relationship in a way common to police officers and other such workers in hard jobs, through good-natured mockery, light-hearted name-calling, and joshing clearly-false implications about their potential sex lives that never quite cross the border into lying (I'm not sure what he'd deduced about why Sally was at Anderson's house or perhaps not at his house, but obviously Mrs Anderson must have been away or Sally would have borrowed *her* deodorant).

Sally thinks Sherlock's exactly what she always said he was.

Seb taking care of Sick!Jim

[identity profile] 2014-04-13 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Jim might be a egomaniacal genius, but he's rubbish at taking care of himself, so it's usually Seb's job to ensure that he eats, stays healthy, and doesn't wind up getting himself into any more trouble than can be expected. So, when Seb has to go away for a month, and Jim gets sick, he doesn't notice, or care. Like colds will, it just gets worse. Seb comes home and Jim's burning up with fever, passed out on the floor, and half delirious.

Poor Seb has to deal with nightmares from his powerful boss, hallucinations, mood swings, and behavior that he never signed up for.

Bonus Points:
+10 if Jim starts crying in his sleep
+50 if his Irish accent comes through while he's ill
+100 if Seb winds up singing "SleepSong" to Jim to lull him back to sleep

If your God helps the helpless, may he help you all well
I am bound for the outside, to find my own Hell
If defiance means death, I would die before stand
Like a sheep, to be thrown to God's hand

Could be an historical fusion, a fantastical setting, or a modern-world AU:

England is a theocratic tyranny. The Church -- whichever Church you care to make it -- IS the government.

John's devout in a quiet way, or at least he keeps any doubts he may have to himself.

Mycroft has no faith but knows he has to maintain an appearance for his position's sake.

Sherlock's an absolute and outspoken skeptic, and thus an heretic. Heresy merits the death penalty. Sherlock being Sherlock, he's having trouble with the notion that he can't just logic people into realizing that he's right or at least that he's entitled to disagree with the authorities.

Bonus for any variant on the following exchange:

"To your mind, Mr. Holmes, what is the most sacred word in the language?"

Basically, Sherlock John and Donovan get captured by criminals. The criminals torture John, getting worse the longer SJ&D are there. At first Donovan still thinks that Sherlock is a freak, but gradually this changes as she sees him care for John.

Sherlock uses his coat as a blanket for John.
After they get out Donovan helps John deal with the aftermath.

Soulmate!AU....sort of

(Anonymous) 2014-04-13 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I've been loving all those soulmate AU stories, but I can't help but think how they wouldn't really work in the real world - besides the whole they might be too young/old, might be dead/not even born or if they even speak the same language issues there's the fact that most people change (even if only slightly) as time passes. So instead of your soulmate's name on your wrist, it's the person you're most compatible with - at that moment. So when you're a teenager it's common to have the name of a classmate since you'd have similar experiences and maturity, but as you grow up it's common for the name to change several times. Usually the name settles permanently by the time you're ready for marriage, but a late name-change or two isn't uncommon (and is the leading cause for divorce). But where most people experiences an average of 10 different names in their lifetimes, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson have only ever had the one each.

(Basically I want a fix exploring the special relationship between John and Sherlock and how they always manage to compliment each other throughout their lives regardless if they've met and despite their continuously changing points in their lives)

John/Sherlock. Cinderella AU

(Anonymous) 2014-04-13 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock is born in the rich family that loses everything while he's still a baby. His parents are dead and he ends up in an orphanage. When he's still little, he gets adopted by a cruel family and those people only need him as a servant and to get a monthly payment for raising him (they are noble, but have lost almost their whole fortune). They treat him poorly.

When he's a young man, there's a big event in the country - a royal wedding/anniversary/birthday or anything like that. Sherlock's family is invited, but, of course, they won't take him with them, because to them he's nothing, a disgrace. It only got worse since he'd become old enough for them to stop getting money for him.

When they leave, Sherlock has an unexpected guest, - a man he's never seen before. He says that his name is Mycroft and that he's Sherlock's real brother. Mycroft is an important man and he's working on having their estate and fortune back to them. And when it happens, he'll take Sherlock away from those cruel people. Or maybe even before it, once Sherlock is of legal age (or, even better, he's already adult and legal, but there's some reason he can't just leave).

For now Mycroft can only offer Sherlock a visit to that famous royal event, as it should have been in the first place, because he was born in an old, noble family. Sherlock is not particularly enthusiastic, but, eventually, agrees nevertheless.

Mycroft makes sure Sherlock has new, expensive clothes to wear for the event and a car with a driver to get him to the palace and back.

John is not necessarily royalty at all. He can be a general; famous (the whole country knows him), noble, kind, interesting, unmarried, and therefore, there's practically a queue of women from rich families, who find him very desirable.

But John finds himself drawn to a mysterious young man, with whom he spends most of the evening, before, for some reason, Sherlock has to run home. He's in such hurry and panic that he loses something (jewellery, a cufflink maybe. Anything). John finds and picks it up afterwards.

I'd love a lot of angst. John and Sherlock are in love, but apart, and John does everything he can to find Sherlock, whom nobody seems to know at all (maybe Sherlock didn't give his real name. If his so-called family knew he was there, he wouldn't have seen the end of their cruelty, so he had to be careful).

Meanwhile, Sherlock has to put up with his abusive family (as usual) and the fact that life isn't a fairy tale and therefore he can't have John (bonus if he allows himself a sentiment of cutting John's picture out of a paper and look at it as often as he can, especially when things are really bad for him).

And yet, happy ending, please.

If any sex scenes are included, I prefer only top!John (I don't mind if they have sex when they first meet after spending some time in each other's company. They just find an empty room while the celebration continues, and... well, I leave the rest of it to your imagination. ;) Another bonus if John is flattered that he's Sherlock's first).

Mycroft/John: They love Sherlock more than each other & it's all fine

(Anonymous) 2014-04-13 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
No matter how much John may like, perhaps even love, a person, he can never fully commit to the relationship because he’ll always put Sherlock first. Fortunately enough, he’s found someone who feels just the same.

Please no angst/unrequited love/pining. John & Mycroft enjoy each other’s company very much (and the sex even more) and are not secretly wishing Sherlock was in the other’s place. They just know that if Sherlock needs something, they’ll come running and that’s fine because the other would do the same. As for Sherlock, I’d prefer him not to have an interest in that kind of relationship, so he’s also fine and unangsty. Though still very demanding of John's (and Mycroft's?) attention. ;)

Basically, the same set up as in canon, but with John having finally found a date that doesn’t mind when he has to call off every other time and Mycroft having finally found someone that understands that all of his attention and effort will forever belong to Sherlock. Though, really, Mycroft, you need to remove the cameras from the flat. That’s creepy.

What the companions do without their geniuses

(Anonymous) 2014-04-13 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
This prompts should features all of the companions to the geniuses of the series, and how they can actually get along when their brighter halves aren't there.
I wrote something that leads into what I would like, there's, it’s just an example.
Each of them causes their own trouble, and they all enjoy it.
They cover each other in an unspoken agreement.
They have no desire to harm each other, since their geniuses are not there.
When they cause trouble, they cause big trouble, yet somehow its not big enough to draw attention.
Hopefully there's a lot of action, running, stabbing with stilettoes.
Anthea can run perfectly in stilettoes.

It was one of those nights. The kind of nights where the entire world seemed to have agreed upon a universal peace. A truce, where drug dealers took a break, murderers revisited past murders with pride, and geniuses sorted out their affairs.
But for the companions to these geniuses, tonight was their night.
John Watson was wearing a pair of pants he was comfortable ruining, a jumper that made him look harmless, and a pair of shoes that he could easily run in. He took his browning, as well as his cane, wishing to look harmless to the untrained eye.
John had taken Sherlock into account, and since tonight was a nights where the man had decided to actually sleep for once, he’d felt secure. He didn’t need the consulting detective to follow him tonight.

Sebastian Moran took special care in looking particularly dangerous, wearing combat boots, camouflage pants, and a form fitting black top that showed off every ripple of his muscles. He had a gun hidden on him, along with many other weapons that he was sure to use that night. He looked like a man you wouldn’t mess with.
Jim had been sulking the entire day, seeing as he had to sort out affairs that had gone awry. He’d hidden himself from everyone, even Sebastian, and hadn’t been seen since. It was good, since Sebastian didn’t need the consulting criminal to know what he was doing.

Kate, had dressed herself as alluringly as she possibly could, while still being ready to run and fight. She had on tight black pants, a form fitting maroon tank top, and knee high boots. She looked like the very definition of sex.
Irene, had no clients scheduled, seeing as her monthly cycle had left her crabby and in no mood for blackmail. She’d yelled at Kate, and insisted that she go out that evening. Kate had obliged in this request, finding it more than convenient that “The Woman” stay home while she went out to play.

Anthea still looked as frigid as ever, dressed modestly. She wore actual pants instead of a skirt, and her hair was down bangs pinned back. She wore more makeup than she normally did, and her stiletto’s looked deadly. She still had her trademark blackberry glued to her face, but that was to be expected.
Mycroft had been keeping more secrets, humming to himself and doing more legwork than he normally did. He was in an excellent mood, and told Anthea that her services were unneeded today. A smile had graced the ice queen’s face, and she looked up from her blackberry to thank Mycroft. Anthea was pleased, pleased her plans weren’t inconvenient for the British government.

All four of them were headed to a pub downtown, to a private booth in the corner.
They all had arrived at different times, Sebastian being the first, secretive as ever about his transportation
Anthea was second, chauffeured in a shiny black car, forever glued to her blackberry. Not even faltering in her stilettoes, the height of which caused models to break their legs.
John had arrived third, limping like an invalid. While Kate arrived seconds later, waltzing in and striding over to the booth gracefully.
The four of them together were quite a sight. An unlikely combination of people, all very different, yet getting along perfectly.
John was the first to speak.
“So, what’s the plan for tonight?”

anything even vaguely RTMI would be appreciated.

Hopefully RTYI

OK, it may not seem that angsty to start with or to fit your prompt, but get to the end and then reread it knowing what you now know and oh the angst.

John was Sherlock's Dom before the fall, so when Sherlock comes back John punishes him but he goes too far and pushes past Sherlock's limits. Sherlock doesn't say his safe word cause he somewhat thinks he deserves it. But sherlock ends up afraid of John because of it. When John realizes this he spends months trying to fix it. Eventually they start down the right path again. But it is only after sherlock tells John about what happened to him while he was gone and they reset boundaries.
