Secrets of a Detective Reprompt

John picks up a round at one of the many hospitals in London. During a late night shift he catches Sherlock sneaking into a patient's room. After doing a little investigating John discovered the room's occupant is one Victoria Trevor.

Sherlock's wife.

She has a terminal illness but cannot take care of herself (paralysis due to brain tumor or some such). But why is Sherlock keeping her a secret? Why did they marry in the first place? How does John react?

Bonus points if A) Lestrade knows (Mystrade a double bonus), B) John is crushed by his UST, C) Sherlock and Victoria had/has a child(ren)

I hate pranks. I mean, I really really hate pranks. I feel, to paraphrase Melissa McEwan, that most "pranks" are just straight-up bullying disguised with a veneer of "There's something wrong with you if you don't think being humiliated is funny." If I could find the person who invented "screamer" videos I would kill him twice.

With that out of the way, the prompt:



Someone "pranks" John.

The prank turns out to be, for him, a serious PTSD trigger.

Bonus if what's intended only to hilariously "make him jump out of his skin" actually results in days of hypervigilance, persistent sleep disruption, and a recurrence of his nightmares.

Double bonus if John can't admit (even to himself) that he's been triggered.

My headcanon, since I first watched the series, is that Sherlock had pneumonia multiple times as a child. His lungs still are not strong. He really shouldn't smoke.

Just a little thing. I am not trans* so I hope I haven't offended by trying this. My hands hurt, so this is a pathetic fill, but I may get to it later

Despite what the popular opinion of the uninformed public might be, there was never the moment of Eureka! Sherlock didn't suddenly decide one morning that she, with all the proper bits and all the proper mannerisms, felt like a he. No; there wasn't anything like that. It all began with confusion, realization, and then most importantly: denial.

She, or rather, he, was faced with denial. He denied the part of himself that felt right for months—probably even years. Whenever John referred to him as a woman, regarding the beauty of his figure; eyes lingering at the curves of his hips and the swell of his breasts, he felt like a fraud. He felt like he was deceiving him in some way, despite knowing he was absolved of any blame whatever the case may be.

John and he were in a relationship, quite happily, but with this newfound information, this identity crisis, Sherlock needed a plan.

Firstly, how was he supposed to tell John what was going on? He was a military man, and those types of people could be crass, crude, and the least understanding of people from his experience. Put twenty men in a shower and misogyny and sexism on all levels was bound to come up.

But this was John. Kind, caring John; surely he would understand?

No, Sherlock decided. John was a straight, heterosexual, very sexual man that would scoff at the idea. He wouldn't understand.

God, he'd been thinking about this for days. Weeks if he counted passing thought. Sherlock slammed his head against the table, his long, curly hair pooling by his head. After turning his head and resting his cheek against the cool wood, Sherlock appraised his long locks. He could probably rid himself of that first. He didn't particularly like long hair, but in regards to the general public, men were more willing to listen and underestimate a girl who looked very pretty.

But that wasn't who he was anymore.

Biting his nails, Sherlock punched in a phone number and started to plan. This wasn't something that would happen in a day, or maybe even a year, but it was going to happen. Standing afraid and alone was not something he was used to, and he wasn't about to start now. This was his life and he was taking control.

Sherlock swallowed. Whether John agreed with it or not.

Sherlock makes off-hand comments about Lestrade that Greg never really noticed. Little things about caring not being an advantage, and how different he is. After he starts dating Mycroft they're really happy and everything is good... then Lestrade learns that Mycroft killed someone and doesn't particularly care...or, I don't know. He puts it together that Mycroft is a psychopath and when he says he doesn't really do emotions, he means it literally. Greg then struggles with the fact that Mycroft didn't love him at all, but rather he might see him as an object. Something interesting to toy with for a while. How do they deal with this?

I would prefer that it be an awesome character study rather than a big drama, but if anyone wants to fill it, feel free.

Sure, it was a surprise. Not a big surprise, but a suprise. The cold shoulder when Greg mentioned love, the almost robotic like actions. But the killing was what really gave it away. It had been the middle of the night when a man broke in and tied Greg up. Mycroft had shot him easily. No remorse. No guilt. Just the calculating look he got on his face when he was thinking. That's when Greg knew.
The only surprise was Mycrofts tears when he brought it up. He sobbed that Greg would leave him if he knew. So, Greg stayed. Mycroft explained to him the situation:
"You are a good person, a great lover, an amazing friend," Mycroft murmured. "I don't love you. But, finding someone else as high quality as you would be a hassle."
Greg figured that was the closest thing to a love note that he would ever get.
And, life went on. Greg was more careful around Mycroft after the incident. He wouldn't anger Mycroft or annoy him for fear of his boyfriend loosing control. After a while, it just seemed normal to live life without love. Mycroft would leave him alone for weeks and then show up one day with flowers. He would kill the parking attendant that gave Greg a ticket and send him the fingers.
On their wedding day, Mycroft cried.
"How could I find someone as perfect as you?"
It pained Greg to know Mycroft wasn't talking about love. He was talking about their compatibility. That Greg put up with him and shagged him every couple nights.

But, then again, isn't that what love is?

AU. John, limping and without purpose, one day finds himself in a strange pet shop run by a man who calls himself Count D. D insists that he has the perfect pet for John, one he calls Sherlock. Sherlock, however, doesn't look like a pet at all, but like a man.

What kind of pet Sherlock is, the nature of his care and contracts and whether John falls victim to Count D's usual shenanigans is up to you. John can be with Mary and/or Sherlock, or it could be gen; all I ask us no infidelity or bashing.

Sherlock is terrible at flirting.

For reasons unknown to John, Sherlock starts saying chat up lines to him (could be a case, for science or a tip from *insert characters name here/ random magazine name*'s tips to woo John) but really, he's not so good at them.

Instead of them being like "How much does a polar bear weigh? It doesn't matter but at least it broke the ice." It come out more... Sherlockian (for example "How much does a polar bear weigh?" then he gives the average weight of a fully sized polar bear and afterwards stands there doing a rather manic stare because he was told/ read that eye contact is a must.)

Bonus points-

-Sherlock is actually a fantastic flirt but is doing it on purpose for science/ to make John laugh which he's also heard is a great way to seduce people.

-His flirting gets more and more ridiculous as it goes on.

- John decides to give Sherlock a taste of his own medicine after he starts getting annoyed with how long it goes on for and it ends up being a strange flirting war between them which Sherlock DEFINITELY wasn't expecting

I don't know. It popped into my head after a guy tried to flirt with me at work (which is strange in itself) ... At least I think that's what he was doing...

Sympathy pains

Sherlock/ John gets injured (nothing too serious, pulled muscles/ torn ligament/ broken bone/ etc) and the other one starts getting serious sympathy pains.

The injured party is touched but a sort of annoyed that the other is taking their thunder a little. The one with sympathy pains is trying their best not to make a fuss but god damn it feels like it hurts like hell.

Prompted because it's happening with me and my best mate at the moment. =S

And what I can find starts and becomes really good and then just...stops. So please, PLEASE give me some good slave!mycroft. Would I like mystrade? Sure, if the suggestion helps, but don't feel bound by it.

Sherlock ends up in Moriarty's grasp and is tortured psychologically. By the time John gets a hold of Sherlock again, the consulting detective's mind has been broken to the point of him reverting to a childlike state.

Bonus if childlike Sherlock only recognizes John

I'd prefer no slash, just some good hurt/comfort and friendship between Sherlock and John.

Post-HLV, everything is going right for John: he's still with Mary, and after a long discussion with her, he's also become romantically involved with Sherlock. He spends days running after Sherlock and helping track down Moriarty while constantly checking his phone, waiting for the moment Mary goes into labor.

It all happens seemingly at once: they take down Moriarty, and shortly after Mary finally gives birth to their daughter. Then, as soon as John has a moment to spare, he and Sherlock have sex for the first time.

And then it all spirals out of control — for John, anyway. He's exhausted with the new baby, but every time he's not caring for her, he's at Sherlock side, and if they aren't pursuing a new case, Sherlock is insatiable. Mary may not be quite so hungry for it, but she certainly wants sex, too. He can't even think about his job, and how he'll have to return to it soon or be sure he can leave it and remain financially stable enough for the baby.

John's constantly out of energy trying to fulfill the needs of the three most important people in his life, but he's also so blindingly happy he can't bring himself to tell either Mary or Sherlock that he needs to slow down.

So what happens then?

He could spend the rest of his life in this hell-hole, leaving his country defenseless.

I have a thing for fics with Sherlock or John receiving permanent and debilitating injuries... Such as being paralyzed, or having a limb amputated.

However, there aren't many fics like this in the fandom.

If one of you could write me a story where Sherlock or John is injured in this fashion, I would love you forever and ever. Johnlock preferred, but Gen is okay too.
