No matter how much John may like, perhaps even love, a person, he can never fully commit to the relationship because he’ll always put Sherlock first. Fortunately enough, he’s found someone who feels just the same.
Please no angst/unrequited love/pining. John & Mycroft enjoy each other’s company very much (and the sex even more) and are not secretly wishing Sherlock was in the other’s place. They just know that if Sherlock needs something, they’ll come running and that’s fine because the other would do the same. As for Sherlock, I’d prefer him not to have an interest in that kind of relationship, so he’s also fine and unangsty. Though still very demanding of John's (and Mycroft's?) attention. ;)
Basically, the same set up as in canon, but with John having finally found a date that doesn’t mind when he has to call off every other time and Mycroft having finally found someone that understands that all of his attention and effort will forever belong to Sherlock. Though, really, Mycroft, you need to remove the cameras from the flat. That’s creepy.
Mycroft/John: They love Sherlock more than each other & it's all fine
