Sherlock gets a new flatmate. They are not in a relationship, they barely talk to each other, they aren't even friends.

But the flatmate (and his friends too) is rather scary, has violent tendencies, is rude and disruptive, threatening, intimidating and menacing.

It starts to affect Sherlock since they live together. And eventually the flatmate starts getting physical with Sherlock. Sherlock refuses to talk about it. In fact, he's long pretended he doesn't actually have a new flatmate and people almost believe him.

John is furious, but he's got his baby and wife so he really can't move back in. Lestrade's hands are tied because Sherlock doesn't even admit a flatmate exists. All they can do is wait and hope the next time they see Sherlock, he isn't in a worse condition...

Somehow, some of Sherlock's schoolmates find out that he doesn't know what oral sex is and they take the opportunity to trick him into giving them head. They agree to be friends with him and/or keep other kids from beating him up, only if he sucks them off whenever they want.

Sherlock is really sheltered, maybe he doesn't even know that sex can be for anything besides procreation. Even so, what he's made to do makes him feel inexplicably bad and he tries to keep it secret. And even though his 'friends' tell him it's a normal thing to do, they still make fun of him for it, which doesn't make him feel any better.

Eventually, someone catches onto the abuse Sherlock's suffering and puts a stop to it. H/C, please!

Sherlock and John have upgraded their friendship to a relationship and let everyone know.

The thing is that the others look and see them together and honestly see nothing different about how they're acting towards each other.

While I do like to read preglock fics, when I really think about it, I have a problem imagining him as a parent who actually wants and enjoys being one. So, please, give me Sherlock, who doesn't want any children. EVER. But accidentally gets pregnant.

This can be with omega!Sherlock or an AU where some men can get pregnant.

When John decides to take a risk and offer Sherlock to become more than friends, Sherlock immediately accepts, because he's in love with John. What John offers is a serious, long-term thing (if not forever. If it's an A/B/O verse, they can even bond).

Just like when they were about to become flatmates, Sherlock makes some things clear: he's a virgin and has little idea about being in a relationship personally, he will likely forget about all of their anniversaries, and things like that. But, what's more important, he absolutely doesn't want to become a parent, ever. He doesn't want all that stupid stuff with 'happy children's laugh' all over the place, 'little legs running' in their flat and other horrible things that most other people find 'sweet' and 'adorable'.

While John did want to have a child someday, he accepts Sherlock's terms.

Everything is great between them, they are happy, but one day their contraception fails and Sherlock gets pregnant. He wants an abortion, but somehow John convinces him to give it a try. He's very excited about Sherlock being pregnant with their baby, he really wants it now that it's already there. But, as he has been warned, Sherlock doesn't want it. They start having problems in their relationship. Sherlock is not interested in the baby and it doesn't change even though others assure him that his parental instincts will kick in.

Sherlock and John argue all the time. Sherlock tolerates his condition just because John wants 'that thing' inside him. John both understands it, because it was discussed beforehand, and is frustrated, because he really wants them to have this child and be happy, all three of them.

When Sherlock gives birth, things don't change. John is the one to take care of their baby while Sherlock wants nothing to do with it. Also, he's very unhappy, his relationship with John is ruined and he's sure that it's the baby's fault and John's, who insisted on keeping it, despite Sherlock's warnings. Now it feels like his beloved is lost to him, because Sherlock is not like most other people (which, ironically, attracted John in the first place).

I don't mind a good ending where they manage to make it work, agreeing to compromises, despite Sherlock not being like any of those mothers he'd seen and never actually becoming fond of children. Maybe it gets better when their child is no longer a baby and a toddler, so Sherlock finds it easier to deal with somebody who's started to become more conscious and understands more things than a younger child can.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Sherlock and John in a new shiny relationship full of passionate kisses and lots of emotion, but I'm curious as to what would happen years later, when maybe they're not as affectionate as they used to be.

I'd love to read something where John always needs some form of affection and closeness, but Sherlock can go long periods of time without it, and this starts to put a strain on their relationship. John begins to fear that Sherlock has become bored of him, and things just get real angsty, but in the end they work it out and Sherlock makes sure they both get what they need.

You know that scene at the beginning of TEH when we see sherlock being tortured? He has obviously been there for some time. Somehow John gets to see the footage (possibly due to either Mycroft's or Moriarty's meddling/he notices some scars on sherlock's back and investigates). Angst ensues.

I would prefer johnlock but it's not required.

+1 if sherlock made a conscious effort to hide what happened to him

+10 if it's not the first time he has been tortured (john somehow finds also out about it). maybe have the mind palace created originally for the purpose of coping with the aftermath

First prompt, so hopefully I won't suck at this. There are just not enough stories in this fandom where Lestrade is the spanker! Sherlock slumped against the table, his forehead resting against the rapidly warming wood (currently thirty-five degrees Celcius/ninety-five degrees Fahrenheit/three hundred and eight point one five degrees Kelvin). He hated not having a case. He hated these slow days when he had nothing to do and no way to keep his mind occupied. Days like this made him feel like the junkie he would always be, like an addict locked away as his body strained for anything like the high of a case.

On days like these, he would kill for a cigarette. (Ingredients: acetanisole, acetic acid, acetonin, acetophenone, ammonium alginate, ammonium hydroxide, amyris oil, trans-Anethole, anisoldehyde–)

The worst part of these days was knowing that what he /really/ required wasn’t his seven per cent solution or a mountain of nicotine patches or an incredibly interesting experiment. He knew something that could pull him out of the withdrawals after a case was physical contact; he also knew he couldn’t simply ask someone for the necessary physical contact because he was /Sherlock Holmes./

For now, the table was an adequate substitute for the touch he so desperately wanted (needed?). The contact between his forehead and the wood grounded him some and helped him stop his mind from spiralling out of control.

He heard the door open as John returned from the clinic. When the shorter man finally climbed the stairs (tread less muffled than usual [always starts walking with his left foot, no limp today, limp comes back when it rains] suggesting that he’d worn his older pair of shoes, faint scent of lemon [lemon cleaning wipes in the cabinet with his spare clothes] which always meant he’d had to change into a new shirt after a younger patient was sick in the clinic–), he saw Sherlock sitting upright in the chair and staring into the microscope. He didn’t seem to notice that the younger’s back was unnaturally straight or that Sherlock was practically vibrating out of his skin because of his boredom.

“Tea?” John asked, flashing Sherlock an unaware smile as he passed to pull two mugs from the top shelf. Sherlock made a wordless humming noise that meant something along the lines of /yes please./ When the drink was placed beside him (one sugar, splash of milk, biscuit on the plate–), Sherlock waited until John was upstairs before he picked up the mug in order to cradle the warmth closer to him, closing his eyes to convince his brain that this was enough for now.

I'm pretty sure I've read something like this before, but no specific stories come to mind, so if anyone has any RTYI's then that would be helpful :)

prompt: John has basically been neglected/under-appreciated by his family his whole life, but he wants things to change now that he's at uni, so he starts going to clubs and ends up sleeping around with various guys a few times a week.

These guys don't care about him at all, they pretty much just use him, but John gets used to it because he at least feels appreciated for that short amount of time. He doesn't think he's worth anything, his self-esteem is in the dumps, but then he meets Sherlock.

John is 100% convinced that there's no way that Sherlock could genuinely like him for something other than sex, and this forces Sherlock to be gentle, caring and reassuring. Their relationship helps both of them grow and develop, especially when it comes to how John sees himself.

How about a fic where reichenbach was real and Sherlock had no plans to fake his death but instead really wanted to die and so when he jumped off the building it was him actually hitting the pavement. And when John runs up to him he's still alive and he still has a pulse which is a miracle and he goes to the hospital afterwards and everyone's there to be with him but when he wakes up he can't stop thinking about why they couldn't just let him die.

Sherlock thinks it's an interesting case, but that means he... ugh... has to go to Toon Town of all places.

I've seen several fics where John comes from an abusive home, but what if the Holmes parents were functional alcoholics? They hide it well - they seemed perfectly nice in s3 - but it would explain why Mycroft had to "grow up" so fast, why he worries so much about his little brother, and why Sherlock was so desperate to get out on his own that he refused to come home for help even when he was broke and homeless and the only happy thing in his life was the cocaine. Everyone thinks Sherlock and Mycroft are being awful people when they clearly show no affection for their parents, but they do have a good reason . . . (Up to you whether it's an issue of abuse, domestic violence, or simple neglect.)
