For some innocent reason, John tries to wake a sleeping Sherlock. Sherlock is half asleep when he looks at John and what he says next sends chills through John's body.

"Are you going to rape me too?"

The only way Sherlock can fake a "real" relationship with Janine - all the little touches and kisses and soppy looks and sentimentality - is to pretend he's dating John. John is the only one he'd ever consider letting himself look like a fool like that for, but John is straight and John is married to Mary and he'd never consider Sherlock as more than just a good friend anyway. (Sherlock's not quite 100% sure of that last part, but their post-Reichenbach friendship is fragile enough already - he can't chance it . . .)

Due to some traumatic event Sherlock becomes childlike, imagines himself to be a 5-year-old or something. His family and friends fuss around him, but it’s not much they can do. Mycroft doesn’t want his brother to end up in a mental ward and asks John to be Sherlock’s “babysitter”. A childlike Sherlock is very much like his usual self: he enjoys playing with a microscope and setting experiments, he has no social skills whatsoever, and he wishes John would stay with him forever.

“Shh, it’s all right, it’s just a scratch. Nothing serious, nothing to cry about.”

It’s not a reproach of course, just an awkward attempt at comforting. John’s voice is soft and soothing, merely a whisper into Sherlock’s hair. Sherlock wraps his hands tighter around John’s waist and tucks his tear-smeared face into the familiar warmth. He’s curled beside John on the sofa, his long legs drawn up tightly to his stomach as if it would make him appear smaller. He would have gladly shrunk, so that he could sit in John’s lap, wrapped up in his sympathy, breathing in the wooly scent of his jumper. But fairytale-ish transformations are something he’s never believed in, not even when he’d really been a child.

Something had happened. Something bad enough to make him regress to a childlike state, for a considerable period of time, in a sort of protective reaction, just like a computer returning to its basic settings. The vice versa change, so much hoped for by everyone—an effect of nourishment perhaps or just another cruel trick of his mind—had been as sudden and unexplainable. Having evaluated his current situation, very quickly considering his obvious confusion, Sherlock had decided that he didn’t want anyone to know about it. Especially John. Not just yet. It’s good that John is so unobservant.

For some reason, he had become Sherlock’s guardian and babysitter. Was it Mycroft’s doing or John’s own initiative?

There are still gaps in Sherlock’s memories. Why does John prefer coddling with him instead of being with his own child? Has something happened to them, to Mary and the baby? Sherlock isn’t sure he wants to be filled in on the matter. If something has happened, it must be his fault. He’d failed to defend John and his family, despite his melodramatic vow. No, it’s better not to think about it. The present is so much better than the past.

It’s been a few days of pretending, and Sherlock has been cherishing every minute. Why would he want to be a grown-up again? Why would anyone want him to be a grown-up?

He has a microscope and a “young scientist’s” chemistry kit and other toys to play with. He doesn’t need to be ashamed of the fact that he likes to fall asleep hugging an old veteran teddy bear. He doesn’t have to tough it out silently when it hurts or hold back when he’s happy. He still can make deductions, and everyone is much more tolerant when it’s a child who speaks the blunt truth, not a grown-up man who’s supposed to be social and keep some things to himself.

John scolds him sometimes, but it’s only when Sherlock deserves it: when he’s being rude and sulky or has scorched the kitchen table during some unseemly experiment. So it’s all right. Besides, John is generous with praises too, like he’s always been. For some reason, he’d been especially touched when he’d listened to Sherlock sharing what he’d learned about the solar system. Also, John always switches on the bedside lamp when Sherlock has nightmares and sits by his side until Sherlock dozes off again.

John had even promised to buy him a dog if he behaved. Sherlock hasn’t had a dog since…since a very long time. It could be fun. He wants an Irish Setter or a Border Collie.

Will anybody care what he wants if he declares that he’s cured now—not a child anymore but his real self? That’s rather unlikely.

There will be no more strolling through Regents Park with John, to the zoo and back, hand in hand. No more kisses good night and cuddles on the sofa because grown-ups don’t do such things unless they are lovers. No more reading “Winnie-the-Pooh” together and playing pirates…because even lovers don’t do that.

In short, no more John. For why would he stay?

Sherlock discovers that a while after his faked death, John suffered from a fairly severe case of stress-induced cardiomyopathy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takotsubo_cardiomyopathy) (aka Broken Heart Syndrome*). This is something that John has taken pains to keep from Sherlock, uncomfortable with its implications. Sherlock is shaken by the discovery, and also baffled - at first thinking something or someone else must have been the trigger for John's condition. When he realizes that it was his own "death" that caused John's heart to dangerously weaken, Sherlock finds himself unable to suppress, or fully comprehend, his complicated reaction: The dominant three quarters of him is guilty and horrified, and wants to shake John for being so insane as to care that much about Sherlock. But there is another Very Not Good part of him that greedily hoards this hard evidence of his importance to John.

What happens from there is up to the author.

Alternate S3, or post-S3. Can even be set while John is still with Mary if the author chooses.

Johnlock please, though RST is not strictly necessary. Any rating is fine.

*I know Broken Heart Syndrome occurs mainly in women. But I can't find anything that says it happens exclusively to women, so.

Based somewhat off an idea referenced but not really explored in a fic I read recently. Sherlock escapes from every possible rehabilitation facility, so Mycroft takes matters into his own hands, kidnapping Sherlock only giving him drugs after sex with him, conditioning him to associate the drugs with sex with Mycroft. Sexually tender, gentle Mycroft. Sherlock doesn't enjoy the experience, but is always the one to agree to it to get drugs.

This is a idea for the writers:
Petunia and Vernon drive the doorstep- baby into London and leave it on the street. The Homeless Network finds him and brings him to Sherlock (BBC). Who takes him for the weekend but gets interested in him. So adopts and raise him/perhaps finds out harry is his biological son.
Sherlock isn't a wizard but trains him in his interesting powers.
Dumbeldork bashing, bad weasley/malfoy.

Or:A Sherlock x Harry Potter crossover where Sherlock rescues harry and adopts him or finds out he's his biological son.
Or they meet 3rd year after he run off

Sherlock doesn't want to be a junkie, but everyone keeps pressuring and guilting him into taking that next hit because when he's high he can do this amazing thing where he can dissect a crime scene and catch a killer in a week, rather than the months it takes the entirety of Scotland yard put together.
He is depressed and tired of being a performing monkey, addicted to a substance that sooner or later will kill him.
But then he needs a new flatmate and along comes ex-army doctor John Watson, who for once cares more about his health than his ability to solve crimes. It's refreshing and nice, but also creates a stronger contrast with the way others regard him and that adds to his depression.
John won't stand for any of it and helps him.
Not particularly looking for slash, but if you must...
And I'm not sure where Mycroft is in all this, but whatever.
+ One of the yarders actually goes so far as to bring him confiscated drugs from the narcotics department sometime

Mary never gets the text, or maybe she doesn't share it with Sherlock, either way Sherlock is unaware that John is kidnapped and being lit on fire.

And so poor John dies in the flames

The next morning Lestrade's team gets called to the scene after remains are found during the clean up. He reckons an interesting case is just what Sherlcok and John need to get their act back together and John blogging again, so he calls Sherlock in.

Cue the angst!

In the Mazarin Stone, Billy the page is described thus: "Billy, the young but very wise and tactful page, who had helped a little to fill up the gap of loneliness and isolation which surrounded the saturnine figure of the great detective."

In HLV, in the Christmas kitchen scene, Bill Wiggins says "I’m his protégé, Mrs Holmes. When he dies, I get all his stuff, and his job." before amending that to "I help out a bit.", and Sherlock says "He’ll monitor their recovery. It’s more or less his day job."

So putting all that together with a little squinting...

Sherlock is recovering from his injury at 221B and feeling lonely and ill. He is now fully aware that he's in love with John but wants him to get back with Mary for the sake of the baby and because he knows John still loves her. So to stop John moving back in and tempting him, he invites Bill to live at 221B instead, ostensibly to teach him to develop the observational skills he displayed in Molly's lab and help him get off the streets. Bill basically becomes Sherlock's carer.

Then one day, Bill makes a clumsy pass at Sherlock, who thinks "well, why not?" and they start a casual sexual relationship.

Bonus points for the reactions of Sherlock's friends and family when they find out, given that Bill is poorly educated, not conventionally attractive and used to be involved in a drug den.

Sherlock's always considered John and Mary's daughter to be a detail in his life -- mildly amusing, mildly annoying -- nothing worth noticing.

But when she starts to develop, he suddenly finds himself having sexual fantasies about her, ranging from idle daydreams of copping a feel to explicit fantasies of debauching her in her school uniform or charting her sexual development in minute scientific detail.

Could be a 5+1 where he has five fantasies about her, and something different happens in the last part: for example, he finds a more suitable outlet for his libido and gets over it... or at the other extreme, makes his fantasies reality, with all the consequences that entails.

But either way: Sherlock struggling with the emergence of his hitherto unknown inner Humbert Humbert.

Mycroft's had eating disorder issues over the years, specifically with bulimia. When John finds out, he realizes Sherlock's constant cake jokes are even more of an asshole thing to say than John thought. As much as Mycroft annoys John too, John gets really pissed at Sherlock for being so terrible about something that shouldn't be fair game to harass his brother about.

Please write a fanfic titled "The Elephant in the Room".

The theme of this fic should be Sherlock first direct meeting with John huge cock. Sherlock do not know what to do with IT, John schools him.

Feel free to follow all the inspirations/kinks this theme give you.

Note: When I say huge cock I mean dreamy/ideally huge, not "deformity" huge.

Mary gets de-aged.
Now John and Sherlock have a little girl to look after - and she's a damn handful.

Molly bribed Jim to come out of hiding and save Sherlock at the end of season 3, and paid for it by giving her body over to Jim for whatever he wanted. Jim took her up on the offer, but told her that he would collect at some other time, and proceeded to pull his little stunt with the TVs.

It worked and Sherlock was saved, but now Jim's back to collect, and Molly wants out of the deal.

A lot of people pointed out that in HLV it wasn't likely that John would be far from Sherlock's side. Well, what if he wasn't?

John is lagging just far enough behind Sherlock to miss the reveal of who's in the room with Magnussen, but he sees a figure in black with a gun pointed at Sherlock. It's the cabbie all over again.

Without asking questions, John aims and shoots. He doesn't realize that he might have made a mistake until he sees Sherlock's horrified look.

He just shot his pregnant wife.

(Please don't have him kill Mary, but a close call even with the bulletproof vest would be great!)

Now everyone is at fault in some way and there's going to be ANGSTTTTT

When John was in uni and Sherlock was struggling with drugs. Drugged, Sherlock raped John. He bonded with him and then left him.

Few years later Mike presents Sherlock and John in hopes of them to become flatmates.

Went to see Crimson Peak last night and I'm pretty sure one of the trailers involved Moriarty chasing down Harry Potter and Dr. Frankenstein.

I want to read this fic.

I know that there are plenty of hypothermia stories, but I'm a slut for this classic trope and they are never enought for me, so...

Please write a story were Sherlock is moderately hypothermic for whatever reason you prefer, and John must snuggle half naked with him to try to give him a little of body heat.
If you prefer he could somehow light a fire too.
Rescues are not immediately available at least for a couple of hours.
Put in it all the angst you want (but DO NOT kill Sherlock, nor John).
Johnlock, but not established relationship.

From wiki on moderate Hypothermia: " In moderate hypothermia shivering stops and confusion increases."

I feel like we're lacking in felching in this fandom and the one felching fic i found on AO3 is toplock. But because I am more of a bottomlock kinda girl, I want the reverse. I want John to do filthy things and suck his come out of Sherlock after sex.

A bill falls through in China or something politically similar; Anthea boy/girl friend breaks up with her. The two spend commiserate by eating ice cream and watching movies on the couch together while complaining about their troubles.

THIS is the kind of content we all need! Please someone write this.

Lestrade ends up getting thoroughly pissed while out with John on one of their pub nights (maybe it's after he finds out his wife is cheating / post-divorce going through / etc.) and gets super-tactile. John doesn't entirely object to the idea of kissing Lestrade, but he doesn't want to let it go too far and then have Lestrade be upset/embarrassed/angry the next day.

Except the next day, Lestrade isn't entirely sure what happened and whether he just dreamed it. Maybe Sherlock makes some embarrassing deductions? Or John and Lestrade end up having to have a really awkward conversation?

Would be fine with John/Lestrade or John/Sherlock/Lestrade or pretty much any combo you want to come up with :-)
