Prompting Part XXXVII

This is the new prompting post for the Sherlock Prompting Meme. Prompts from LJ can still be filled there with links here or filled here in the new overflow post.

GUIDELINES

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Please do not re-post prompts unless the last time they were prompted was on an older part. Simply put: ONE posting of each prompt per part.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

The Clean Junkie

(Anonymous) 2015-06-22 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hope OP doesn't mind I changed a wee detail about Mycroft's involvement. Also, I feel like John would be fairly okay with Sherlock dressing however he wanted until he found out that Sherlock was still comfortable in his old style then that shit had to GO. I think this turned out crackier than I meant it to be...

The Clean (but not exactly clean) Junkie

John Watson was often wrong. It was a fact he had come to accept living with.
Things John Watson was wrong about:
1) He had thought that Sherlock would you know, shave and, obviously, bathe (the smell was getting atrocious.)
2) He had thought that he would go back to his usual apparel (John missed the sharp suits.)
3) He had never thought Sherlock would burn his former wardrobe (with the exception of his coat.)
4) He had just sort of naturally assumed Sherlock would cut his hair and get back into his usual strict hair-care regiment (his hair was getting be disgusting.)
5) He did not think that Sherlock would get clean
And because John was wrong about that last, he for the most part let the other things slide. Occasionally he would demand Sherlock take a damn shower or have a shave (John was not kissing him with that nasty-ass beard on his beautiful face.)
But mostly life went on. Sherlock seemed comfortable, so who was John to tell him he wasn't to dress how he wished?

It was, however, a bit problematic on cases. Greg's superiors were still watching Sherlock hawkishly despite his name being cleared, and he no longer looked the part of the pristine Consulting Detective. But somehow Sherlock manages. John thinks maybe he scares them off with the smell.

-

"You're an absolute nutter. I told you to stay from him." Donovan says one day over a margarita at the pub with John, Greg, and Anderson after the completion of a particularly difficult
case
"Yeah!" Anderson pipes up, nearly spilling his martini all over John. "We WARNED you 'bout 'im!" He leans in close, using a conspiratorial tone but speaking quite loudly. "You've just got shiiiiit taste!" He goes to make another grand gesture and this time, does spill his drink on John. This, John thinks grumpily, is why they do not often invite Phillip.

John stops at Tesco's on his way home and so is more than mildly displeased when more the bag (containing brand new eggs, damn it all) falls to the floor as he releases it in his shock. Sherlock is standing in a brand new suit with pristine hair and John can smell the strawberry shampoo from the doorway. "What. The. Hell?"
Sherlock turns to him with that little grin of his and John can't help a small smile in return, despite reminding himself he's pissed. Sherlock pulls John into waltz a which the shorter of the two stumbles through but enjoys the kiss at the end anyway. "What's got into you?"
"Serial killer!" Sherlock replied with excitement. "And he's making his mistake at some big happening tonight. But I think there's something else too. I haven't slept more than
normal, but I feel much more energetic than usual." John opens his mouth to tell him why for, but Sherlock silences him with a kiss. "Let's save the examination for
in bed tonight, Doctor." He winks and then is out the door in a whirlwind

John blinks.

The offer is tempting. But John is about to do something which he knows will earn him a spot on the couch tonight. He takes out his mobile with a sigh. "Mycroft, I need a favour. How quickly can you get a whole new wardrobe for Sherlock? A decent one."

-

Sherlock runs up the stairs to the rooftop, heaving from the sudden action of jumping from the cab as he'd seen what looked like disaster. The smoke is visible from the street and he can smell it thick and heavy in the air. He emerges onto the flat surface of the roof and stares open mouthed at John as he waves from the other side of the blazing bonfire. "Are.. Are those my CLOTHES!? What are you DOING?!"

John has many a destroyed jumper in mind as he gives an impish grin, calling back, "Experiment!"

From the writer of this fill:
Sorry about the format being a bit muddled, I was on a roadtrip and had to piece things together from my mobile..
