Not the same anon. I didn't see the episode, but I've read a complete/detailed report from someone who did. They didn't like the episode at all (in short, they said it felt like a bad, cheap comedy, some parts they were looking forward to were huge let downs) so maybe they were a bit biased when they told me about it, but from what I can remember: Sherlock and Molly share a ~*passionate*~ kiss (you actually see it onscreen) and then... I'm a little confused about that one. I /think/ Sherlock and Moriarty giggle (on the roof?) and shit, then they kiss, but oh, this time for some reasons you don't see them. Anyway, those kisses are all part of 'How did he survive?' theories Anderson has been coming up with, so I assume we're supposed to laugh at them.

Oh thank you so much for sharing this! I honestly don't know how I'm going to survive the first episode -- it's a good thing I'm already apprehensive enough about the whole third season. I love and miss Sherlock terribly and I can't wait to see Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock again, but this particular season... Thanks so much for sharing so generously!

So. What's with this season that makes you apprehensive? I can of course only speak for the first ep (and yeah, it isn't my favourite one by a long shot, but I think that's more down to the editing - the thing that scared me the most about series three was if the John/Sherlock reunion would feel "off", and I can honestly say that that part Gatiss handled brilliantly!!) but if there's anything you want to know about that - and it isn't "too" spoilery (I am a big fan of spoilers myself, but some of the gags I don't think I could make justice of and I wouldn't have wanted to know them going in) just ask and I'll see if I can answer.

(Also, I'm quite looking forward to seeing the ep again with the knowledge that it's kind of episodic, and that the editing will give me whiplash trying to follow it - 'cause there really are a lot of the very good Sherlock stuff in there too!! Just think of it as this series weak ep. Hopefully Thompson will give us another ep of Fall class, and then Moffat will rip all our hearts out and tap dance all over them. But in a good way... :) )

*sigh* At the risk of getting chewed out, it's Mary Morstan. I'm a huge Johnlock fan, so I can't easily accept the idea of John finding someone else and moving on, and I can't handle the idea of a third wheel even in a platonic friendship, which is how the lovely Amanda Abbington herself described Mary's impact on John and Sherlock's relationship and friendship. Which is only natural. A decent guy like John Watson would truly share everything in his life with his life partner. I know it's part of ACD canon but... *sigh* I know it will be handled brilliantly -- I wouldn't expect anything less from the writers. I'm glad we will see more of Molly. Thank you for your generous offer to say more. I do have one thing I can't get out of my mind: "The one person he thought didn't matter at all to me was the one person that mattered the most" -- isn't it Molly? It seems so obvious to me it must be Molly but so many people are saying John. How can it be John though? John mattered so much Sherlock had to fake his own death to protect him.
Thanks again for sharing so many interesting information. I'm the kind of person who has to find out before watching a movie who exactly will die, whose heart will be broken, and so on, because I can't handle the suspense at all.

Okay, first of all: yes, the "The one person..." line is about Molly. And the ep will make the Sherlollies very happy - there is quite a strong Sherlock/Molly vibe going on. (A bit too strong if you ask me...)

There isn't much Mary in the ep, but from the scenes that are, I'd say she adds another person to the pairing rather than coming between John and Sherlock. Amanda is a good choice for the part too, and Mary as a character seems really cool.

So, as one Johnlocker to another - take the first couple of minutes with a pinch of salt and buckle in for one hell of a ride!!

Your comment made me so relieved! Thank you so much, dear fellow Johnlocker. :) Good to hear Mary doesn't come between John and Sherlock. Your description of Mary is the first thing that has calmed me down a little. The wedding picture... broke my heart, and that is an understatement! My only consolation is they promised (although that is no guarantee)there will be a fourth series.

I will definitely take your advice when January 1st finally, finally, FINALLY gets here. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and share all this. I appreciate it very much!

I've been known to feel nauseous just from reading blurbs on other pairings, so if I didn't get traumatised by Mary, you should be fine... :)
