Please do not re-post prompts unless the last time they were prompted was on an older part. Simply put: ONE posting of each prompt per part.

RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

Hmmmm, trying to see this as anything but crack ( pun intended). Help me out here and maybe I can fill this. Why are they doing this is neither one gets anything out of it? sherlock likes this, and finds it relaxing? As a sleep aid?

I don't mean to sound kinkshaming, and I hope I'm not. I'm just...confused. And willing to fill. If I get this better.

some people just find it relaxing to play with their assholes. whether with fingers or toys, it can be soothing like a foot or scalp massage, and doesn't necessarily result in an erection or orgasm. I've known people who did this, it's not unheard of.

most people in this situation would just play with themselves, but that can be a bit awkward and uncomfortable -- hard to relax completely with your wrist in a weird position.

so I'm picturing John finds out about this at some point, Sherlock has to explain that it's nonsexual, but at that point... John's a doctor, he likes to help people, etc. Maybe the first time Sherlock is injured or something, a la Curious Case by Cleo2010?

I mean sure, I'm not picturing this as ultra-canon-compliant gritty realism or anything. I guess I just want to see an asexual character enjoying his body with a friend.

Ok, I'll be happy to fill it, and thank you for explaining. Canon compliance is not really an issue here...I'm just trying to better understand the act as a soothing one.

Just anal play, or body touch in general? Like, penis touch as well, without intent to arouse? And just to be clear, I'm asexual. I find sensual body activities relaxing initially, and arousing thereafter. I can keep it at soothing. But is this Sherlock having a physical block to arousal? ie touch doesn't get him fully aroused (as in a medical issue)? Or would he feel arousal if he kept at it but just prefers not to because he doesn't like the more intense sensation of orgasm?

I don't know, really -- you're free to take it in whatever direction appeals to you. But I suppose what I'd been picturing is that it's not a medical issue, it's just that he doesn't find anal play arousing/erotic. Just like some people might get aroused from having their hair played with or their hands stroked, but other people would simply find it pleasant/relaxing, but not particularly erotic.

He's capable of being physiologically aroused, he's just not interested in that. It's like a back rub or a warm bath or a cup of tea. With his silk robes and everything, Sherlock seems to be a very *sensual* person, but (in this version) not sexual.

If it helps, I'm picturing him lying on his front, so his penis could be a non-issue. John may not even be aware of what's going on with it, if anything.

Sherlock flailed again, this time not just frustrated at the physical inability to find a comfortable angle with injuries sustained to his shoulder blades and upper back, but with the additional mental component of not being able to calm himself down as well. He closed his eyes and attempted to realign his brain.

The case had been simple enough, but he had felt the need to recreate the escape itself, even though he knew it had occurred in precisely the way he had envisioned it. Had to have. Still, he couldn't stand the thought of not having everything link precisely. Whether the glider was fashioned on the spot or whether one was stashed there the night before was key to deciding if there was one burglar or two. He simply needed to know if it could be done.

Nothing broken, acceptable level of risk, and he had proven that, on a less windy day, it was indeed possible to steer out of sight. The draft, the trees, that was unaccounted for, and he ended up dangling from a makeshift shoulder harness some 40 feet up, dazed.

"I can get you painkillers."

"Narcotics are not necessary, just muscle relaxation. Achievable naturally."

"Well what else do you need to relax? Cup of tea? Bedtime story? Lestrade summarising a case? As wound up as you are you might need all three."

Well then. The hot bath had been helpful to ease the sore muscles , but his mind still spun. Violin playing was out. The natural lull (John called it a stupor) which seized him after solving a case was unattainable at the moment, though it was almost as good as done. Tomorrow he would visit the house itself, instead of just sneak into the park bordering it, and get a good look at the carpet and all would be revealed. In the meantime, his available relaxation methods were dwindling. Except...

Tactile sensation. Sometimes if he was able to put all his energies on a single focal point it would prove meditative... create almost a trance state. When his hair was dry, shaking it out a bit with his fingers sometimes helped, but after the bath,damp curls just weren't the right sort of texture, and unwrapping his head would just make John complain about the consequences to leather on the sofa. He never did understand why he cared. Leather is made to be distressed. It is, after all, flesh. And besides, it was his sofa. But then again, what was his was John's. Everything had become theirs by this point.

Sherlock slid his fingertips along the edge of his silk robe, the coolness of the fabric wasn't without appeal, but he wanted warmth. He slid his hand down from the fabric onto his thigh. Texture was wrong. Not smooth enough. Behind his knee was optimal-- warm, smooth and very soothing. His robe flopped open, exposing his body to the open air and to his flatmate.

"Hey, how's about little bit of respect for the other person in the room? You know, the one who doesn't want to be looking at naked men?"

"That would make two of us. Besides, I thought you were busy looking at a computer screen? Or, in your case, the keyboard?"

"Finished. Look, just, tie the robe shut...or flop on your stomach or something."

Sherlock rose partway, balanced for a moment on his knees, and then dramatically dropped belly-first onto the sofa, his robe still open but hanging off the side of the cushions, draping it in blue silk.

John wanted to say something about not making the sofa quite so...penis-y...but actually having to express the thought verbally irked him and he just sighed. The man had no sense of personal shame and that was coming from somebody who shared a barracks with a hellofalot of other men. Still, if they were to give out awards for lack of... wait... was he....actually...

"Ummm, Sherlock, bedroom is that way."

"Mmmm?"

"Apparently this is too much to ask, but, could you refrain from sexual activities on our sofa?"

"I don't consider this to be a sexual activity."

"Pretty sure your fingers along the cleft your arse qualifies as sexual."

"No body part is inherently sexual, or non-sexual, John. Is a tongue sexual? It's used for highly sexual activities, but that doesn't make it sexual in and of itself. Is a penis sexual if you are using it to urinate? A medical exam is certainly not sexual, and that not only involves 'sexual' parts," here Sherlock removed his long fingers from their previous position to make airquotes before returning them, "but someone else touching them. It's all about intent. I'm not doing this for a sexual purpose. The sensation helps me relax."

John chuckled. "It's about more than intent, Sherlock. By that criteria, I could have my finger shoved deep in your arse and it wouldn't be a sexual activity."

"As far as I am concernened it wouldn't be. And it would be damned helpful if you did, because no matter how I angle myself I can't seem to get at it without causing a jolt of pain to my shoulder, which rather negates the usefulness of perineal massage as a relaxation technique." Sherlock attempted to rearrange the pillows again, this time placing them beneath his hips, and was too focussed on his goal to even notice John's stunned silence.

John watched him continue to struggle with angles and found himself wincing along, in a sort of empathy, and tore himself away. This was beyond strange. He headed to the kitchen, but then found himself stopping after just a few steps.

"Sherlock?"

"Yes?"

"Is this a... Do you want anything from me? I mean, yes, I understand you are trying to reach a spot and are having a difficult time with it. That much is obvious. But do you want...is this a prelude to wanting some sort of sexual relationship with me?"

"No, John. No, I don't want a sexual relationship with you. This is not an experiment, as intriguing a concept as that might seem, nor is it a staged attempt to gauge your interest. The tension and relaxation of the muscles feel good. It is no more a sexual feeling for me then a back rub." His voice was tinged with annoyance. In that sense, I suppose all touch is potentially sexual, but, that's not what I'm after. Not going for an orgasm, or even arousal. So both you and the sofa would be equally safe from my semen."

John laughed, and then grew suddenly more serious. "But, you can come, right? I mean, I ask as a concerned medical professional. You are physically capable?"

"Yes, I'm entirely capable-- the plumbing is fine. I'm just also entirely disinterested-- the vast majority
of the time."

"I see. All right. I'll...I'll be right back."

John headed to the bathroom, washed his hands, splashed his face for good measure, and grabbed a glove from a box stashed under the sink. He called out, "Do you have any lubricant?"

"Nothing specifically for that purpose, no," came the response.

John headed up to his room for his own supply. When he came back, it was to a spectacular view of Sherlock's paler than pale arse sliding off the sofa and his right leg strewn over the top of it. Had it been a woman, John would be having a entirely different reaction. As it was, he felt a pang of regret that he wasn't finding this the least bit erotic. He then reminded himself that was, in fact, a good thing... an ideal thing... as neither of them wanted a sexual component to their relationship. And he had to admit, the whole situation was pretty amusing.

"Sherlock Holmes, you look ridiculous, and that can't be remotely comfortable. Now lie down on your stomach, and slide up your robe. Please."

Sherlock responded, with lightning speed.

"All right then, so, how do you want me to do this? Perineum, you said."

"I'm not especially sensitive, so you needn't concern yourself with taking it too far. I'm sure whatever you would normally do is fine?"

"I don't normally, uh.."

"John. It's your own body. It's no more a gay act than touching your own penis would be."

John just shook his head. "I guess I was just the wrong age for the great butt sex revolution, Sherlock. I know my way around though, don't worry."

"Look," John said, holding out his gloved index finger, "Do you want this in you or not?"

"Well then, shut up before I change my mind." That earned absolute silence. Good.

( Mycroft says "my bad"...he must be apologizing for suggesting sausages)

John warmed the lubricant in the palm of his hand before scooping some onto his gloved fingers, and ran it just above Sherlock's bollocks. Just skin. Just a sensitive patch of skin. "Is it warm enough? Oh, oh, sorry I didn't mean don't talk at all. I meant don't tell me how to improve my wanking technique. Is it okay?"

"The temperature is perfect, John. But if you could press little more firmly?"

John pushed deeper against his skin.

"Thank you. If you continue with this motion, pressing deeper as my skin gets more pliant, you can avoid the need for any penetration. The prostate can be sufficiently stimulated externally, for my purposes."

"Do you want me to avoid penetration?"

Sherlock blushed slightly. "No. No, I actually quite enjoy feeling my muscles tighten and release around my finger."

"Then we will see if you can achieve the same effect with mine."

Sherlock melted into the sofa. John could see the tension already draining from his frame. "Ok, I'm going to try it now. Just the one?"

"Mmmmm hmmmm."

He gathered some more lubricant and found himself momentarily starting at the bright blue glove. He shifted his gaze back to Sherlock, who was resting comfortably. So many times he had done this in a clinical setting, but this was...different. It still wasn't sexual. Sherlock was right about that. But it was intimate. Tender. Sherlock raised his head slightly at the sound, but John had already placed both hands on Sherlock's hips, forgetting about the lubricant already on his palm, which smeared onto his skin, in his eagerness to reassure him he wasn't going anywhere.

"Just let me know if I need to slow it down, okay?"

Sherlock nodded, and lay back down again.

John took more lubricant and rubbed his hands together rapidly for warmth, then spread him open and ran his palm along the inside, reverently. As he ran his index finger in a gentle circle around Sherlock's entrance, John watched the skin quickly tighten and release.

"It's fine. You don't have to censor your language. "All right. I can do that." John started far to the left and moved slowly towards centre. "There. Got it."

Sherlock let out a small groan. "Yes, perfect."

"Light, steady, rhymic touch. I can see how it would be relaxing, this."

John ran his hand lightly across the dip in Shelocks back, feeling the warmth, the pliant muscle, and continued the pace. When he felt the slow, steady clench and unclench of tightening muscle, John smiled. As the rate of contraction speeded up and Sherlock's breathing increased slightly, John slowed his movements down, sliding his finger further left again. No need for Sherlock to speak a word. He's got this. Got him. Got this pile of soft muscle and bones lying on the sofa without a trace of pain.

"S'good, John."

"I've got you, Sherlock."

A mumbled response sounded a lot like "always".

awww, that wound up being really sweet! you did a lovely job capturing an encounter that might look like sex but not be particularly sexual.

Unlike John and Sherlock, I find this extremely sexy. At the same time, I can't help feeling that the two are in love even though they aren't compatible sexually.
