Prompting Part XXXVI

GUIDELINES

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Please do not re-post prompts unless the last time they were prompted was on an older part. Simply put: ONE posting of each prompt per part.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

Girl Problems.

Anthea having one of those periods where your uterus decides to be your biggest fucking enemy ever. And Mycroft at first being really very confused as to why his PA is curled in a ball crying under her desk, and then, because he's obviously very observant, realizes what is wrong and goes off to get her pain medication, chocolate, and a heat pack. I don't even care if he's in a relationship with Anthea, or if he's just sympathetic to her pain!

(As you can probably tell, I am experiencing this phenomenon called MBFHM 'MY BODY FUCKING HATES ME!' and it happens once every month. -_- I have spent literally the entire day crying because I am in pain. And I just want someone to have to share it!! Why are we out of chocolate?!
YES MYCROFT, IT IS A RAINY DAY!)

As another lady who can totally relate(and absolutely ADORES Mycroft/Anthea fluff in any form), I am seconding this until hell freezes over.

MINI-FILL Re: Girl Problems. 1/2

Anthea was ten minutes late with the coffee.

Not that her position was normally anything as mundane as “receptionist,” but she and Mycroft both found it useful to keep her desk in the small antechamber in front of his office and pretend, on occasion. The MP at this morning’s particular meeting was about fifty years out of date when it came to gender roles, so Anthea had been playing the dutiful secretary all morning.

She was never late when Mycroft gave her the signal.

He kept a polite smile pasted on his face, but he mentally counted to sixty and then wrapped up the until-then cordial meeting with a few pointed comments and a not-so-subtle threat concerning the MP’s political future if he didn’t comply. Mycroft showed him out the door himself two minutes later, the MP bewildered but compliant. Anthea wasn’t at her desk.

Or - oh. Mycroft caught the tail end of a whimper, quickly silenced. His first thought was an assault - but no, his office was in what was quite possibly the best-guarded building in London, other than Downing Street. He locked the door, thumbed the button in his pocket which turned off all recording equipment in the office, and finally came around-

“Anthea?” Mycroft was brought up short at the sight of his unflappable assistant curled up in the footwell of her desk, obviously trying hard not to cry aloud. He immediately went into mental crisis mode, dropping to a crouch beside her. “Can you speak? Are you injured? I can call for-”

“Not injured,” she bit out. “Sorry - I didn’t think the lack of coffee would have affected the MPs vote that much.”

Mycroft sat back on his heels. “Do you need medical attention?”

“It’s fine,” she said through gritted teeth. “It will go away eventually.”

“Still, I think-”

“Believe it or not,” she interrupted, “this happens about once a month. If you understand what I mean. It’s been a while since the cramps have been this bad, though.”

Oh. Mycroft blinked - he was rarely taken aback, but Sherlock and Anthea seemed to be the two people who could throw him for a loop regularly. “You could have taken a sick day, you know,” he said.

The look she gave him put paid to that thought.

But reminded him of something else. “I seem to recall,” he said slowly, “that my mother occasionally had the same issue. I remember being asked to fetch her some chocolate, pain medication, and a hot water bottle. Would that - would it help?”

Now it was Anthea’s turn to blink blankly at him. She sat up a bit, still keeping her arms over her stomach. “I really can’t ask you to-”

“Of course you can.” Mycroft was already running possibilities through his head, every bit as important as the current political crisis with the MP. Chocolate was easy, he could get that himself from the vending machine downstairs. He usually had a variety of pain medication in his desk, but where to find a hot water bottle on short notice-

Ah! Mycroft backed up and stood. “One minute,” he promised her. The coffeepot was only marginally insulated, and the rich smell in the air told him Anthea had managed to turn it on before being overcome by cramping. He pulled it out of the coffeemaker (hot to the touch, yes, a bit too hot but that was fixable). A quick dash to his own desk for the pill bottle and his spare suit jacket and he was set.

“Here.” He wrapped the coffeepot thoroughly in the jacket (still warm enough to be therapeutic without burning) and offered it to her. And then paused. “It occurs to me,” he said slowly, “that the davenport in my office might be more comfortable for you. I can work out here for a while, if you’d permit?”

Anthea - obviously too under the weather to object - rolled out from under the desk with a groan and allowed Mycroft to help her to the small sofa near the window. It wasn’t long enough to lie on with legs extended, but when she curled into a ball around the wrapped coffeepot she fit just fine. Mycroft handed her the bottle of pills, then replaced them in his desk after she’d swallowed two dry.

“Don’t mean to put you out,” she mumbled. “I know you don’t have time to deal with this.”

“Nonsense,” Mycroft countered. “You’re indispensable, of course, but that doesn’t mean I don’t also hate seeing you in pain. And if I can do some small task to help minimize your discomfort, it’s not an imposition at all. I’m off in search of chocolate - preferences?”

She blinked at him once, twice, then offered a rare unguarded smile. “Thank you,” she murmured. “It’s . . . it’s been a while since I’ve had anyone to do things for me like this.”

“I know.” Mycroft bowed his head. “But you bend over backwards for me, even when it’s not directly related to my work. Allow me to reciprocate.”

There was understanding and appreciation in her eyes. Mycroft retreated to the hallway before he could examine it more.

Op-anon here. :)

Thank you awesome person. You have made my day. (And I'm sure Mycroft made Anthea's) It's just what I wanted. ^_^ Now if only I had a Mycroft of my own... :/

This is awesome! Cheers for Mycroft having a heart, and double cheers for him doing it for Anthea. Triple cheers for him being the kind of bloke who's not weirded out by the monthlies.

This was perfect, like a tiny piece of chocolate to get someone through the afternoon. It was just enough and was amazing. -FN
