THE MEME NEEDS ARCHIVISTS!

GUIDELINES

Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

I'm not the OP, but this doesn't seem like the type of prompt to go down the silly and funny route...?

I may have misinterpreted, and if I did, I'm really horribly sorry to OP and you. I do NOT mean to offend.

I probably shouldn't bother or I'll muss it up and get a lot of people upset with me. I'm sorry, I really am new here, and I'm kind of a huge idiot. I could only imagine a conversation between those two being really awkward and odd, not deep or anything. Their characters are so distantly connected that I couldn't see it happening myself.

Which isn't very open-minded, I suppose.

Really really sorry. I feel really bad now. I'm trying not to get all scared off by everything, but it feels like I accidentally made a joke about someone when they're right behind me. I really must have skimmed the description and headed straight into it. I'm sorry! If there's something else I can do or say, please let me know, OP or responder.

Hi, potential author (authoranon)! I am not the OP or the previous responder, but I wanted you to know this is not an unusual thing to have happen, so please don't feel bad. Sometimes people want the characters to respond in ways that don't fit our headcanon at first, and sometimes people do intend for humor but it isn't quite clear. In my experience, if they are serious they will say 'no crack', and of course you can always clarify as an author what they want, but misinterpretation is part of the deal here. Most people have been happy with any fill. (I have seen many prompts filled in a way that was awkward and odd, but still deep, and some of us , and I count myself amongst them, really enjoy making a prompt that seems a bit implausible work without being cracky). My point being, please don't be discouraged. It is very easy to misinterpret. The OP will let you know if your vision is OK for what they want. If they are not specific as to what style they do and don't want, it is kinda assumed anything goes, unless it is beyond obvious, and even then, a case can be made for writer's interpretation.

Thank you for the little pep talk! I get serious anxiety issues sometimes over ridiculously stupid things.

But really, thank you for the encouragement still. I'm not completely familiar with this environment on the site, so I'll start over and heed your suggestions in a new area of the kink meme. I'll find something very plain and simple to start with.

Hello authoranon! If you are still interested in writing the light and funny story that this this prompt first inspired you, I'd be really happy to read it, and I'm sure others would be too!

This is "NA" from the previous prompt, and I would love to hear your funny story as well!

I'm the OP of this prompt and sorry for not replying for so long. I'm one of those people who doesn't know what I want because I'm greedy and I want EVERYTHING.

I love reading about serious topics in a humourous light though (one of those people who search under the tags Angst/Humour XD).

I very much see Sherlock and Mycroft's relationship to be a loving brotherly one even if they snark and bitch at each other and look like they despise each other to death. I can imagine all their serious conversations will be mixed in and done in a humourous, snarky, sassy way - very much like the scene where they both were seemingly very seriously and "grown up" but then it is revealed that they were playing operation.

So if anyone wants to do this with all angst, that's fine by me, or if anyone wants to do this in a humourous way, that's okay too. But I do think it is a serious issue/topic for Sherlock and Mycroft can indulge in a bit of poking fun, but he's still going to get legit advice.

Judging by the language (big bro), I could see it going either way.
