THE MEME NEEDS ARCHIVISTS!

GUIDELINES

• Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.


• Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D


• Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.


• RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.


• Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

FILL: Part 9C - All Life is an Experiment (Mycroft/Sherlock) Rated M

Mycroft carefully places the mobile phone next to him before leaning forwards ever so slightly. He catches Sherlock’s gaze and keeps it. “What happened?”

“Oh, you know. The usual.”

“I don’t,” Mycroft bats back. “Legwork, remember.”

Sherlock tilts his head to better look back at him. He doesn’t answer immediately, instead seems to be looking at Mycroft as though there’s a puzzle to be solved. So it’s a surprise when his brother – injured brother – leans forwards towards him, reaching out.

The bitten-back grunt of pain sets Mycroft into action. He presses Sherlock back into the comfort and support of the sofa, pressing gently against his chest and avoiding any bandages. To stop his brother from overextending himself again, Mycroft moves to sit on the sofa too, perching, with his hip pressing against the solid muscle of Sherlock’s thighs. “Don’t be stupid,” he chastises. 

His brother raises his good arm and grabs Mycroft’s left arm. Mycroft watches as several expressions, too quick to isolate, flit across Sherlock’s distinguished face. “You’re concerned,” he finally says.

“As always,” Mycroft replies wryly. “I fear a lifelong dilemma when it comes to you, Sherlock.”

“But it’s more than that.” Sherlock narrows his eyes and Mycroft fights the urge to obfuscate and bury his real feelings. “You’re- you want to. Oh.” His eyes are wide now as realisation hits him.

Mycroft voice is tense. “I realise it would be ill-advised.”

“Particularly since he’s in custody. With Scotland Yard no less.”

He snorts. “As if that would be a problem.”

“Mycroft-”

“I imagine a short time in one of our cells will lead to a greater appreciation for Her Majesty’s prison service.” Mycroft replies with a scowl.

The hand on his arm moves to his face, and Mycroft closes his eyes as his brother’s thumb presses against his forehead, as if he can smooth away the frown lines. “This is unusual,” Sherlock says slowly.

The non-sequitur throws Mycroft. “That you’re once more injured and here I am despairing of you?”

Sherlock rolls his eyes at his sarcastic tone even as his hand shifts to cup the back of Mycroft’s head. “No. Normally I’d find this over-protective behaviour of yours utterly intolerable.”

Mycroft can see the strain of holding onto Mycroft in the way Sherlock’s eyes crinkle so he dips a little, his brother’s fingers curl into his hair in response. “As opposed to how you consider most of our interactions?”

“You annoy me.” His brother pouts.

“You constantly frustrate me,” Mycroft bats back with a small smile.

“The way you keep tabs on me is irrational.”

“Prudent.”

“You can’t stop me from doing what I like.”

“Evidently.”

“Dear Lord. If I could just-“

There’s a sharp pain as the fingers in Mycroft’s hair clench and pull. He drops his head, allows Sherlock to direct him because really it was obvious this was always going to happen as soon as Mycroft had entered the flat. He twists his torso so that his upper body rests on top his brother, his hands resting upon Sherlock’s hips.

Sherlock tugs at Mycroft’s head until they’re close enough to share the same air. Mycroft can clearly see how Sherlock’s eyes dilate and how his own breath quickens in response. While all he can see is Sherlock’s face – the way his gaze flits around Mycroft’s own face, his cupid-bow lips plump and pink – Mycroft’s brain can only process the sensations as Sherlock’s fingers trace a path across the delicate shell of his ear, brush against his eyebrow and down his cheek. His face tingles and there’s the rush of blood that’s become all too familiar now.

Sherlock laying under him – lithe but strong. Hurt but still defiant. Bringing out the protective aspect in Mycroft but also something much more invasive and alluring. Possessive. To need to have Sherlock’s brilliance and focus solely on him. And Mycroft wants more.

I, also, want more.
This is beautifully done and manage so maintain the spirit of their relationship while beautifully upping the sexy.

That's been the hardest part of this, I think. Taking both of the characters from platonic to something in a around 20k without it seeming totally absurd.

I'm determined to finish this chapter tomorrow, partly as I have actual work to do this weekend, but then I can get on with writing the next chapter which I'm rather excited about!

/confession: is still not quite sure of how the ending will go, however/
