GUIDELINES

Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are so right!! That's exactly what I was thinking all the time. I really really need this story!

Before starting series 3 I'd never expected to feel that way, since Sherlock used to be the kinda cold one and John the more human one. But now... I just feel so sorry for Sherlock and also get the feeling John doesn't really appreciate him enough. And did anyone else hate the fact that Sherlock wasn't listed as one of John's pressure points? What was that about??

Sorry about that. I just really really need this prompt filled!

The thing with the pressure points is that they are entirely based off Magnussen's impression of a person. They're a personal list, for his use, of what he can use against a person. John's list of pressure points is short: Harry and Mary. Why his sister (who he doesn't get on with) and not his best friend? Possibly because there is nothing he can do to Sherlock anymore that will force John's hand. John is used to Sherlock getting the two of them into dangerous situations. If Sherlock were to be kidnapped by Magnussen, I don't think John would react as strongly as he would if it were Harry or Mary, because he sees Sherlock as this indestructible force.

Sherlock isn't John's weak point, and it's not because it wouldn't upset John if he got hurt. It would upset John very much indeed. It's because John is calm in the face of danger, especially Sherlock's danger, and he does not take prisoners. He trusts implicitly that Sherlock will do what needs to be done to fix things. And there is nothing Magnussen can say or do that will shake this faith, this almost irrational faith, that John Watson has in Sherlock Holmes. There's nothing to be used, so there's not point in listing it.

But John - John is the only person that has ever been willing to have Sherlock as a best friend. There is a reason John is on the list of Sherlock's pressure points. Sherlock will kill himself for John. He will destroy himself for John. In the game that Magnussen is playing, that is how the pieces fit. And that is how he intends to play them.

Thank you very much for explaining that. I understand it a little better now. :-)

But for me it's just showing even more the imbalance I feel their friendship has become. John seems to be a lot more important to Sherlock than vice versa. And it didn't use to be that way. Like you said, Sherlock would die for John, but I don't think John would. At least not anymore. And I think that's so sad. And honestly think John doesn't fully realize how much he really means to Sherlock.

I have to wonder if there's something wrong with John that's making him act this way.... I mean, he has been through a lot lately, so maybe he's just suffering from the weight of all that. I don't know, I'd really like an explanation, because poor Sherlock.

Also, I started writing a story along these lines before I saw this prompt, and then I was a bit inspired by it so I kind of adopted it.... So, I think I am sort of filling it. I'd love to read a genuine fill, though. This episode needs lots of fixing.
