Prompting Part XXXIV

GUIDELINES

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

Re: HLV Spoilers! Gen and/or Johnlock - AU/Role Switch

Thirding!

Yeah the sex isn't even the POINT of the prompt, why are these people fixating SO much on a tiny detail? Mention it in passing, okay fine, but to start a WHOLE discussion on it in the comments below the prompt? Those people are just making the op feel bad. Not everyone can remember every detail of an episode, especially a scene that is very bland compared to the drama and excitement of the rest of the episode. The scene even slipped my mind until I read the comments below the prompt and was reminded of it.

Good grief. I asked for a clarification because I am hard of hearing and I frequently misinterpret TV and movie conversations because I'm looking at mouths instead of eyes, or because there are no subtitles. When I read about episodes later online, I get confused because I interpreted a conversation differently than it was meant.

In this case (as I said in my post) there were no subtitles and I thought I had again gotten the wrong meaning from a conversation. I am sorry to the OP, I did not intend to make anyone feel bad, I JUST CAN'T HEAR THE WORDS and got confused about what had really happened.

Good god

This is the third time that I've seen wank in the Kink meme.

Good god. I rather see porn and prompts being filled than this. I feel so bad for the op because its a good prompt.

Ok I'm going to see if I can give this a shot. I've been doing prompts all over and its overwhelming because I love so many ideas here (and want them to be filled,) so once I finish the bunnylock one as well as post a part to another one I will attempt this. But don't expect it to be quick and I apologize if it sucks. I don't have a good grasp on the characters yet.

If someone else wants to jump on this go right ahead too. I'll still do it regardless but its going to be slower than Anderson trying to solve a case by himself.

Good on you, anon. After all this wankery I'm sure the OP will be happy to see someone has an interest in the actual prompt. Can't wait to see what you have in store!

Good God indeed. I have already apologized to the OP and explained that I was not being malicious, I am hard of hearing and was confused by the prompt. Do I need to yell it loudly as if you guys are the ones who cannot hear? I could not understand the dialogue and I made the mistake of asking a question because I was fascinated by the entire Sherlock-Janine relationship and interested in the prompts about it. But then I read this prompt and thought maybe I had misunderstood the whole thing as I have done in the past. If my confusion is so offensive, mods feel free to delete my posts. I would like to forget it, I don't need another permanent monument in my menagerie of hearing-related social screw ups. Not everyone is as perfectly abled and movie-critic razor sharp witted as some of you seem to be, and sometimes a question is just a question and not an attack. Nobody needs to be defensive, there is no malice here.

OP: Worry not anon. You didn't upset me. It upsets me that this whole misunderstanding got so out of hand. I totally understand that you meant no offense, and I know that it can be difficult to have hearing troubles. My mother had a mastoidectomy and can only hear from one ear. We have misunderstandings because of that all the time, and we some times get frustrated at each other for it. Don't trouble yourself and just ignore all the Negative Nancys. I was not offended, no one made me feel bad and you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. I'm truly sorry that others took this so far and made you upset.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and let me know that I hadn't stepped on your toes! I am sorry that you have personal experience on this kind of misunderstanding because of your mom's hearing loss. :( It is frustrating, and I was so lost in thought about the show and my own frustration that I didn't think about other ways my posts could be interpreted, or that I might have sounded less than polite if you weren't inside my head at that moment.

I am a big believer in continuing to scroll if a particular prompt is not your thing. As long as you, the OP, know no harm was intended, then I am not worried about anything else.

Thanks and I look forward to reading any and all fills for your prompt!

OP: Yay! Thank you so much for wanting to fill my prompt! I have no doubt that it's going to be great!

"slower than Anderson" LOL! XD I'm sure it won't be that extreme. Take whatever time you need to finish your other fills, lovely author. I'm in no hurry and am very willing to wait for as long as it takes.

Again, thanks so much for taking on my prompt! Happy writing! :D
