Prompting Part XXXIV

GUIDELINES

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

CRACK, Literally, 5+1 fic, John knows how to realign spines

5 times people have walked in on John cracking someones back into place and thought it was something sexual, 1 time someone walked in on something sexual and thought he was cracking their backs into place.

He can be realigning different people or the same person.

Second. This seems cute and funny.

Fill: CRACK, Literally. 1/6?

First time poster, here, fingers crossed it all goes well. This bit's a prologue, I guess? Because meme-fic requires prologues. Why not.

It was a skill John had picked up in Uni. Enough people, enough hours bent over a desk, little enough sleep... sometimes it was just a little much to handle solo. One post-finals celebration found John sitting on the floor of Mike Sanford's flat, using the arm of the couch to prop up both himself and his empty bottle. When someone went in to the kitchen after another round, John put his hand up to request one himself... and allowed the motion to continue over, jumper riding up all the while, until he was nearly flat on the floor. A mate noticed this and offered him a hand... and that was all she wrote.
He had ample opportunity to hone that particular skill, and several variations thereof, during his service. It was, after all, yet another time of high-stress and low-sleep. John became as comfortable with and proficient in his skill, as he was with proscribing pain killers and closing stitches. His hands were more than a bit legendary.
In the solitary months after his discharge, however, John had to re-familiarize himself with the more singular methods once again, and that was the very least of the things he despaired over. Finding a job and/or a flatshare, for instance, was much more pressing. And it wasn't like “Absolute Tops at cracking backs” was the sort of thing one put in one's resume (assuming one wasn't a chiropractor).

Jenny was a lovely girl, really she was, which was why John was so happy to help her out, now he'd finally gotten her home with him. He'd noticed her rubbing her neck and twisting a little in her chair just before they left the restaurant that night, so he figured it would be an excellent way to break the touch-barrier now they were alone.

He came into the sitting room with the tea and made the offer, and she accepted immediately; surprise, pleasure and gratitude in her voice. Shortly thereafter, her arms were between them, and they were pressed tight together along the fronts of their bodies, and his arms were around her, hands clasped low against the skin bared by her backless dress. She moaned happily as her feet began to leave the floor and his fisted hands slid upwards...

And Sherlock Holmes threw open the door.

“Honestly, John, take it to your bedroom,” he complained as he whipped off his coat. Jenny was turning to look, in the circle of John's arms, and John saw the death of his evening flash before his eyes.

“I hardly think it's fair,” Sherlock continued, unwinding his scarf. “You make all these rules, and I'm expected to follow them.” Tossing the outer-wear toward a pile of books, he finished dramatically: “If I'm not allowed to get other people's fluids on the couch, then nether should you be.”

And he strode across the room and disappeared into his bedroom without a further glance.

After a pause, Jenny slipped out of John's arms.

“I'm just going to...” she said, nodding her head in the general direction of somewhere, anywhere, else. John sighed, and nodded himself, and picked up her purse from the table, and passed it to her.

“Ah, thanks for the..” she waved vaguely, “I had a nice time?”

And she left.

John groaned and sank onto a chair, head in one hand.

“Bollocks.”
