GUIDELINES

Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. Sherlock sometimes doesn't talk for days because he goes on Minecraft binges.

Bonus: He is focused on building beehives to the point that everything he does in game is specifically so he can build more and better beehives.

I literally can't stop laughing about this prompt. SECONDED.

Not hijacking but that makes me think of the Feed the Beast modpack/launcher thingy, you know with the bee mod?

First rule about beekeeping in Minecraft:

FUCK BEES.

Sherlock let out a snarl as he checked his hives and found that the little monsters had gone through all of the brand new frames he had put into them only about ten minutes ago.

There was a knock on the door and Sherlock paused the game foul-temperedly. John's voice carried into the room.

"Sherlock? You there? Mrs. Hudson wanted to know if you were still alive because we haven't heard a sound in about three days...and as far as we know you haven't left the room."

"Yes, John, I am here," he yelled, "Now would you kindly leave me in peace?"

"What are you doing in there?"

Before Sherlock could shout for him to go away, John pushed open the door, poking his head into the room.

"Is...is that a computer game?"

"How very observant of you. Go away now."

"Sherlock, what in hell are you doing?"

"As you have already so cleverly deduced for yourself, John, I am playing a computer game," he pouted, turning back to his computer and un-pausing the game. He needed more frames for the damned bees...that meant chopping more wooden logs and hunting spiders for string in a one-to one ratio. Sherlock spun his character in a 360, scrolling an axe into his hand and moving towards the first tree he saw. It was a small Oak, but his Redwood saplings were taking their sweet fucking time sprouting.

"Sherlock, what in the hell is this? It looks like pixelated building block-"

"Minecraft. Do be quiet, John, it's night time and I need to listen for mobs."

"You need to- wait, Sherlock it's the middle of the afternoon!"

"IN GAME John, IN GAME it is night time, now DO be quiet!"

John grumbled in annoyance, but closed his mouth. Sherlock made quick work of the tree and spun around, looking for another. A growl came from the speakers of his laptop and John jumped a bit. Sherlock hit the scroll wheel as he swiped the mouse to the side, fingers slamming into the “a” and “s” keys of his keyboard as he did. The character responded by drawing a sword, whirling around, and beginning to back away from a rapidly approaching zombie.

“Don’t need you. BORING,” Sherlock muttered under his breath as he killed it, sorting the rotten flesh away into his inventory. “Spiders spiders spiders spiders spiders….”

“The hell was that?”

“A zombie, John. The undead. And now, thanks to my diamond enchanted sword, the TWICE dead.”

“Right. Yeah, okay. So is this really what you’ve been doing for the past three days? Playing virtual Lego Zombies?”

“NO John, I have been playing Minecraft. They just released a new update for the mod pack.”

“Three days, Sherlock.”

“The bees are quite demanding.”

“Demanding? Your virtual bees are being demanding.”

“YES John, they are. Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to constantly maintain the bloody things?” The consulting detective again paused the game and turned to face his friend, an absolutely withering look on his face. “By your dumbfounded expression, you clearly do not. I will explain, and DO try to keep up.”
Sherlock turned back to his computer, unpausing and continuing his quest for spiders.

“In order to raise bees, one must first FIND bees, which in and of itself is a task, because the sodding little monsters enjoy stinging you. Once you have the bees, you can build the beehives, but those require frames. Each frame is made with a total of eight sticks and one piece of string, the eight sticks being taken from one log. The effectiveness and durability of the frame depends on the type of wood being used – the rarer the wood, the more effective the frame will be. However, wood like that doesn’t simply drop into one’s lap. In order to get the wood I need, I have to collect saplings, breed trees, and wait for the butterflies to pop up and begin shedding pollen all over them. Once that happens-“

Sherlock’s monologue was interrupted by a sound like a shaken up pop bottle being opened too fast, and a small explosion. Sherlock cursed profusely, and John’s eyes widened as the game screen swung to reveal a crater.

“Bloody fucking creeper…” Sherlock growled, scrolling to a stack of dirt blocks and beginning to fill in the hole, having to stop part way through to go kill a skeleton that was shooting arrows at him.

“What even is this game...?” John asked in wonder.

“JOHN. I have told you already, it is MINECRAFT. PLEASE try not to act so dense around me it’s DISTRACTING!”

John cast an exasperated glance in Sherlock’s direction as the consulting detective began to mutter about needing to go find some red stone or other.

“You’ve bloody lost your mind.”

“No time to chat, John, the bees need more frames or I’ll never get them to a higher link on the breeding chain…”

“You are completely hopeless.”

“No, these BEES are completely hopeless. I’m going to have to set up a high-concentration tree farm, as well as search the mineshafts for a skeleton and spider spawner. I’m going to need sting, saplings, bonemeal, dirt, torches, water, cobble, cactus…”

“Yeah, I’m gonna go check on Mrs. Hudson,” John said, backing out of the room as Sherlock continued to list items.

“Please close the door behind y-OH SON OF A BITCH-!”

John was happy to oblige.

My son is Minecraft obsessed...so much so that I was able to understand this without ever having played the game myself. I think I'll go thank him now

loved it - I am not one for the bees myself I am afraid but hey, imagining Sherlock swear at a creeper just made my evening that much better :)
