Prompting Part XXXIV
GUIDELINES
- Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.
- Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D
- Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.
- RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.
- Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.
THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).
If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.
Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.
WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.
Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.
That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.
You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.
Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!
THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.
PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

Fill: No Refuge from Memory: 13b/?
John nodded.
“And you don’t know what triggers these episodes?”
“No, I don’t.”
“Very well, the obvious solution is to put a moratorium on touching each other until we get to the bottom of whatever is causing your problem.”
John shook his head. His lips thinned into a determined line, “That won’t work. You weren’t even there when I had my first episode. There is no telling what could set me off. Do you not remember that less than five minutes ago, I held a gun to your head? I could have killed you. I could have fucking killed you and not even remembered it. Can’t you see? I’m a danger to you. I’m leaving. This is not up for debate. This is not negotiable.”
“Where are you going to go?”
“I don’t know. Harry’s?” He was lying.
Sherlock tried to inject reassurance into his voice. “I’ll find you a place to stay. Let me do at least this much for you.”
John’s face said that he wanted to argue, but his only response was, “Thank you.”

Sherlock dialed the second number on his speed dial.
“Hello, my dear brother. It’s so good to hear from you.”
He rolled his eyes at the smug tone.
“Mycroft, I need a favor, well, actually two favors.”

Mycroft never did anything for free, even when it was his own brother doing the asking. Sherlock volunteered to help with two cases, one that needed his immediate attention, and another that he would solve at some mysterious point in the future. He solved the first in less than hour and texted the answer to his brother.
John chose that moment to arrive in the sitting room with a duffel bag in hand. His lips were tight, but something like relief smoothed some of the lines from his forehead.
“Your ride is downstairs. I’ll walk you out.”
He led John to the ground floor and the waiting car. John’s shoulders slumped in defeat when he saw it. He turned to Sherlock and leaned forward for a moment, as though he were going to kiss him. Sherlock flinched. John stepped back, but reached out and took Sherlock’s hand in his and clenched it tight.
He said in a strained voice, “Well, uh, goodbye, Sherlock.” His voice broke when he said Sherlock’s name. He looked away for a long moment then studied him for several long seconds, as though he were trying to memorize his face. Then, he squeezed his hand one last time, turned away, and stepped into the vehicle.
The driver handed Sherlock a thumb drive and drove away. He watched the car for a few moments then turned his attention to the memory stick. It contained PDFs of every report card, transcript, medical report, and other document related to John Watson’s life, from birth to present day.
His phone rang as he started up the stairs. Ugh, Mycroft. He glared at the display before answering.
“What?”
“I would recommend you start with David Fernandez.”
“What? Why?”
“Really, Sherlock, do you expect me to do your job for you?” There was a long pause, “And just so you know, if John Watson ever leaves another mark on you, I’ll kill him myself.”
Sherlock hung up the phone, shocked into silence for perhaps the first time in his life.
A/N: Next fill will be up late Thursday night(ish). Thank you for reading/leaving comments! I’ve been having so much fun writing this fic, especially when I get to do horrible things to John!
