No real directions, but this isn't a place for debate. It's a place for RANTIN' AND RAVIN'.

There is a rule: There is to be no calling out anyone by name in Rants, Chatter, or on the Meme itself. This only produces an atmosphere of animosity and it is no longer tolerated. If you see any names being ranted about, please link us at Page-A-Mod. Thanks! :)

It's wonderful to know I'm not alone, it feels relieving and amazing and I don't feel that odd anymore! :)

If you have time to write up the list your psychiatrist gave you, I'd love to have it! The more information I can find from more sources, the better. But only if/when you have time <3

I know exactly what you mean.

I don't need to type it up, I can just use my amazing copy-paste skillz to snag it from the e-mail I sent to the Disability Resource Coordinator at my uni's students with disabilities office, who also wanted the list. :D

RECOMMENDED:
1) You Mean I’m Not Lazy, Stupid, or Crazy?!
By Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo
(Excellent. Didn't buy it, but I did read it cover-to-cover.)

2) Women With Attention Deficit Disorder
By Sari Solden
(I don't know your gender identity, so this book may or may not be particularly useful for you. Bought this one.)

3) Scattered Minds
By Leonard Adler
(Also really excellent - if you end up wanting to tell family/et c. to read a particular book, I'd suggest this one, especially if they wouldn't want to read a long one. This one is IMO the best for the layperson. It's also got some really great analogies and some CAT scan images that aren't in any of the other books that I found helpful. My parents bought this one for themselves.)

4) 10 Simple Solutions to Adult ADD
by Stephanie Sarkis
(I actually haven't read this one - I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy at the library and I hesitate to buy books before reading them.)

5) ADD Friendly Ways to Organize Your Life
by Kathleen Nadeau
(Bought this one. My new Bible, so to speak. The DRC mentioned above bought two copies for the SWD office 'library'.)

NOT RECOMMENDED

1) Driven to Distraction
by Edward Hallowell and John Ratey

2) Attention Deficit Disorder: A Different Perception
by Thom Hartmann

3) Scattered Minds
by Gabor Mate
(Note that this has the same title as one of the recommended books - make sure you're reading the right one! XD)

4) Healing ADD (6 Types of ADD)
by Daniel Amen

He recommended four websites as well: caddac.ca & caddra.ca, which are Canadian, and totallyadd.com & chadd.org which are are both (I think) American.
