Yeah, sounds like he's just pining away for some female companionship. Not to mention he refers to the attractiveness of men just as much as he does women (he calls Godfrey Norton "handsome").
The fact is that most people are just data to him, regardless of sex.
They've done a pretty good job of portraying Sherlock as asexual and just not interested in any kind of relationship at all and they need to keep it that way. I hope Moffat is just trolling. If they try to put Sherlock into some kind of relationship by the end of the series... ugh, just NO.
