Pssst, hey, just FYI? Breaking region codes is illegal. Those "region free" players are so cheap because they're knockoffs not sold by up-and-up manufacturers who follow market rules.

No, region free players (and blu-ray players- blu-ray is region free) are legal in many countries. Major manufacturers including Panasonic and Sony make region free players.

Just like downloading is legal in some places but illegal in others. Some owners of region-free DVD players are still doing something that's illegal in some countries but legal in others.

Anon who started the thread saying she couldn't get it legally is in the US. Region free players are legal in the US.

It is not illegal to sell or own a region free player in Europe or IIRC Australia. All of the big companies make them.
