No real directions, but this isn't a place for debate. It's a place for RANTIN' AND RAVIN'.

There is a rule: There is to be no calling out anyone by name in Rants, Chatter, or on the Meme itself. This only produces an atmosphere of animosity and it is no longer tolerated. If you see any names being ranted about, please link us at Page-A-Mod. Thanks! :)

Please do not use this post or any other posts in the meme for sharing of download or streaming of links that aren't the official source of the content.

Oh Mycroft, you big, big, umbrella-wielding mystery, you.

Mycroft shows he cares, but not to Sherlock, he doesn't. He sneers at Sherlock for calling him on Christmas, says caring will only break your heart, and as soon as Sherlock turns his back on him, he goes into full big brother mode. It looks to me like Mycroft's afraid of letting Sherlock know how much he cares for him, and it certainly seems that Sherlock wouldn't appreciate it. Why? Did something happen between them? Does Mycroft think it would put Sherlock in danger if people knew he cared for him? Or is he merely trying to keep Sherlock under control?

The 'don't be alarmed, it's to do with sex' - 'sex doesn't alarm me' - 'how would you know?' exchange makes me think that Mycroft isn't as desinterested in sexual relationships as Sherlock seems to be. I wonder if he's a bit lonely sometimes?

Then there's the whole 'childhood in a nutshell' thing. So, I'm guessing Mycroft more or less raised Sherlock? Maybe Sherlock doesn't resent Mycroft as such but the fact that he's not, you know, Mummy?

Anyway, in my head!canon, Mycroft cares for Sherlock and doesn't want Sherlock to know just how much, but caring alone doesn't mean he's an overall nice person. Sherlock might have a reason for resenting Mycroft, or he might be a brat. Hm.
