episode 3 spoilers

Why is there always always something I don't get about the episodes and then it always turns out it's something stupid everybody noticed?

I don't get one thing: Sherlock, at Bart's, before the end. Molly is there and he finally acts nicer than ever with her. He says he needs her and then...and then what? We don't see her anymore, next thing Sherlock does is go up on the roof with Moriarty and we all know what happens next. So what did she ask Molly for? How did she help him? Did they just talk, did he just pour his heart out to her? I refuse to believe it's just that, they can't have had just a chat, it seems... weird, and underwhelming.

Thoughts?

I thought they were saving that bit for next season. He had to have asked for help faking his death but we'll have to wait for the details.

Oh good, for once it wasn't a case of me not understanding what was going (yet again) but an actual unresolved plot point that nobody knows about yet.

Phew.

Thanks, anon! :)

I'm wondering if she's meant to be a stand-in for Mary Morstan. But, for Sherlock, she helps him fake his death. And then she's there for John in the aftermath, maybe even starting a relationship with him, but she knows the truth. She knows Sherlock is alive.

She also knows that when John learns that she knew Sherlock was alive and never told him, he will never ever forgive her. (Oh hey, this turned into a prompt half way though. Oh well, wait for the prompt freeze to be over!)

She was being Molly. She provided the body, helped him fake the details (death certificate, body ID, etc.) all the while staying anonymous, behind the scenes. No one would think she'd ever do something like that. They avoid showing/mentioning her again because then it would be obvious what Sherlock was about to do and the whole thing would lose its emotional impact.
