Prompting Part XXXVI

GUIDELINES

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Please do not re-post prompts unless the last time they were prompted was on an older part. Simply put: ONE posting of each prompt per part.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

gen, Mycroft actually leaving passive aggressive captcha notes

(Anonymous) 2015-04-23 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
please someone tell me if this has been prompted, frankly I'm surprised if it hasn't but I can't find if it is. But either way, this would be great to read.

Mycroft is above passive aggressiveness, or any such petty uses of time. He is a man of utmost efficiency. Or so he likes people to think. That way, you never even think to suspect him when the time comes to strike in such an unnervingly subtle manner you won't even know why you're uneasy. It's a clever and foolproof plan.

Sherlock of course claims that the majority of people are in fact too stupid to look at their human verification tests for anything more than a quick chuckle, and this must in fact be proof that mycroft is finally having a nervous breakdown.

up to writer anon which brother is correct. And, because the nature of the prompt demands it, mycroft says "one hit wonder" take that as you will.

Ahh! Thank you so, so much for filling my prompt so wonderfully!

Harpy was great. Trying to evict humans is just... perfect cat. I was glad to see her come back at the end!

The rats were simultaneously adorable and terrifying. It's a hard balance to have, and you wrote it well.

The idea of Sherlock going out and catching the pigeons for the experiment himself is such a wonderful thing to imagine.

I loved how all of the species had different ways of interacting with the communication and responding to John. It made sense and helped flesh out the magic in the world.

I loved Sherlock trying to wrap his mind around the mechanics of it, and him using it to get back at Anderson. That was perfect.

And Penny! :D Haha, how kind of her to help them sort themselves out for the happy ending. Sherlock would be a terror of a cat.

This was wonderful, author!anon. Thank you so much!

BBC Sherlock/RDJ Holmes selfcest, size difference kink

(Anonymous) 2015-04-25 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
I've got the weirdest kink for ' them tiny people of the past' ...

The prompt:

RDJ Holmes is a 19th century man and therefore stunted in his growth.
Cue BBC Sherlock marvelling at the completely proportional yet almost doll like stature of his Victorian counterpart and then mayyyybe doing wicked things to the man in some kind of narcissistic power trip?

John inadvertently reveals how much he trusts Sherlock; John's trust is very cathartic for Sherlock.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-25 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
For some reason Sherlock is forced to strangle John unconscious.

Maybe he's undercover in a criminal organization, and John gets caught coming in after him and Sherlock is ordered to kill John to prove his loyalty to the organization. That's just one possibility; whatever works is fine.

The important part is: Sherlock has to strangle John, and he doesn't have a chance to tell John what's going on. He expects John to fight hard against him, and he expects to see fear and betrayal in John's eyes. But when John sees who's strangling him, he stops struggling, and just looks calmly up at Sherlock.

Later, once they've escaped and brought down the crime ring, Sherlock is deeply unsettled by what happened, and struggles to make sense of it. He doesn't understand why John would just let himself be strangled. Meanwhile John is acting like nothing strange happened.

Finally Sherlock demands an explanation, but John seems to think it's obvious: He let Sherlock strangle him because he trusts Sherlock. And in the moment that Sherlock was strangling him he knew there would be a good reason for it; he just didn't know what that reason was yet.

This revelation blindsides Sherlock, who has always half-believed himself to be a sociopath. Or, if not truly a sociopath, certainly someone inherently Not Good, someone whom others rightfully don't trust. The kind of person the Sally Donovans of the world believe might really strangle someone - and perhaps they're right, he's never been quite sure.

And here's John, essentially saying, "I trust you to halfway kill me without telling me why; I trust you not to finish the job on my limp, helpless body; I trust you," like it's no big deal, a given, obvious.

Johnlock pre-slash, please. Preferably leading to Johnlock in the end, or hinting at soon-to-be established Johnlock.

John/Sherlock. Lipstick kink.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
John comes home and sees Sherlock testing different brands of lipsticks for a case. Of course, he tests them on his own lips. John becomes very turned on and Sherlock notices. He starts teasing John on purpose. But John can't stand the teasing and kisses him. Madly.

No pre-established relationship, please. If it comes to sex, please, top!John. Virgin!Sherlock would be interesting, too.

If you're interested in RTYIs there's Ravish Me (http://archiveofourown.org/works/641123) by amalnahurriyeh. It's not exactly what your prompt calls for, but it's pretty close, with Sherlock testing lipsticks on himself and John being suddenly very interested.

Also, I second the heck out of this prompt. Especially with the top!John and virgin!Sherlock parts included.

This is awesome! Cheers for Mycroft having a heart, and double cheers for him doing it for Anthea. Triple cheers for him being the kind of bloke who's not weirded out by the monthlies.

Ohhh this is PERFECT.

We need more Internet friend AUs

(Anonymous) 2015-04-29 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously. I've only seen one of these aside from the well-known Livejournal one, and it was fantastic. I don't care who it is(But Sherlock and John would be good), which website they met on(can be unnamed) or what pairings, so long as it's internet-friends-eventually-meet-up style.

Bonus points is Mycroft is somehow involved and you can somehow use the terms "mad hatter" and "hunky dory".

Sciatica and slipped discs

(Anonymous) 2015-04-29 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
How about a fic where Sherlock has a bad bout of lower back trouble? Grows steadily worse over several weeks. Tries to ignore it to finish a case, but when he wakes up one night locked in position by pain, he has no choice but to holler for John to come help him. Not slash, please. Just a study in friendship, caring, and chronic pain.

WANT!

remember the rules

(Anonymous) 2015-04-29 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
1)Pay your taxes and keep your head down. No business to do with nobles ever goes well.

2)That strange night a year and a half ago? You aren't to talk about it. Ever.

3)If your sick or hurt, but are still breathing John, who's lived up on Baker's Hill for the last 18 months, can probably heal you.

4)Son of Wat is a wise man and you can ask him just about anything, except his past. See rule 2.

5)In no way shape or form should John son of Wat be brought up, mentioned, or referenced anywhere near Duke Holmes or his family. See rules 1, 2, and 4.

Problem is, someone just broke rule 5 in front of the notoriously curious younger son of the Holmes family.

(Mycroft says: great scott.)
