The Hound is real. It is actually a big, horrifying mutant dog. It warms up to John at first while Sherlock keeps being scared of it for quite some time.

They end up taking it home. Needless to say, people go to the opposite side of a street when they see John or Sherlock walking that...

Mycroft says: "smell that". Yeah, I'm sure the Hound doesn't smell like roses...

For whatever reason (new evidence, copycat, IDK) the Yard starts investigating a series of rapes that happened years ago in which the suspect was never caught. They get stumped and go to Sherlock for help and he not only refuses to help but perhaps even attempts to persuade them to stop them investigating. Maybe even tampers with evidence to lead them down the wrong trail.

Well, enter all those detectives who're suspicious of him in the first place. They connect the dots that what happened in was Sherlock's general area & stopped immediately after Sherlock moved away.

Lots of angst for our poor detective until it's finally revealed Sherlock was the person's last victim, moved to get away from the area of the crime, & the reason there were no more victims is because Mycroft hunted down that fucking bastard and murdered him.

Bonus: Mycroft. Pissed off Mycroft. Caring big brother Mycroft. Scary British Government Mycroft. Just Mycroft everywhere. And he's not amused.

I would really, really love a fic with johnlock nonsexual ageplay in which john sometimes goes into "little" headspace and sherlock takes care of him. I'm not really into anything with diapers, but things like pacifiers, bottle-feeding, cuddling, feeding, or any sort of affection is always great. I just love the idea of john letting his guard down for a little while and allowing someone to care for him :) Any RTYI's are welcome!

Sherlock gets killed during a case.

Several days later John wakes up and Sherlock is alive, as if nothing has happened to him at all. Turns out it's the same day as the one when he was killed. John sees the similarities immediately, checks the date, and uses the opportunity to protect Sherlock this time, but later (later this very day, the next day or a few days later) Sherlock gets killed anyway.

I'd prefer if, instead of a one day span, it was the same week over and over again (I think it would be more interesting this way, because it would include more adventures and more time for development) and Sherlock even gets a funeral sometimes, if he gets killed some time in the first half of the week. But then the week starts anew and he's alive once more. With John saving him multiple times, according to his previous experiences (or John, being his usual tough, amazing self, just senses the danger and protects him without knowing beforehand sometimes), Sherlock dies in a different day/hour of the cursed week each time. Maybe sometimes John gets killed, protecting Sherlock, but immediately wakes up alive as the week starts anew for him.

I'd love it to be a case!fic with John solving it, getting to the roots of everything, untangling a big mystery of how to avoid Sherlock getting killed. Though I don't mind if there's some situation when John has to consult Sherlock somehow. I also don't mind if he involves Mycroft in one of the versions of the "groundhog" week, and Mycroft hides Sherlock in some facility, but the villain is clever enough to find Sherlock anyway and get him killed (Moriarty?).

Eventually, John makes sure Sherlock survives the week and time starts moving on as usual (maybe John goes into his unstoppable, adrenaline-fuelled soldier mode and destroys a good part of the criminal organisation, responsible for Sherlock's deaths. Maybe Moriarty or somebody equally dangerous is behind it, so John has to find that person and terminate the threat once and for all).

Pre-johnlock is great. Or maybe John/Sherlock gets somewhat resolved during some versions of that cursed week and possibly works in the end (I prefer no sex scenes, but if you decide to include them, I wouldn't mind at all as long as there's no bottom!John).

John gets angry at Sherlock and shoves him (not to rough) during an argument in the kitchen. Sherlock stumbles back a few steps and hits the handle of the sauce pan on the stove, flipping the water or contents that had been boiling onto himself burning him. John is horrified and calls 999, enter the dealing with the emotional and physical aftermath of the accident.

I was planning to maybe make this an art series someday I am a fanartist not a writer (alas), but I'd love to see it as a fic so I'm sharing my bunny here.

After the Fall John starts to notice things going missing first Sherlock's coat, maybe his scarf or microscope, then his violin. He wants to believe it means something, but everyone tells him its crazy fans and Mycroft will admit to nothing.

Feeling desperate John "borrows more like snatches" a surveillance camera from the yard and places it inside the skull on the mantel in hopes to get some answers, What he doesn't expect is to come home and the skull is gone. When he opens his laptop to retrieve the downloaded footage, he is faced with his supposed to be dead former flatmate staring directly into the eyes of the skull/camera and then leaving with it.

The footage continues to record as Sherlock traverses the globe dismantling Moriarty's network, getting injured, and carrying on lonely conversations with the skull. He doesn't know that John sees him, or that John has left London and is trying to deduce where Sherlock is by what he is viewing on his laptop. John follows the trail, watching as Sherlock returns to his various temporary lodgings sometimes exhausted, others angry or desperate, and at heart stopping times broken and bleeding. He also sees Sherlock continuously viewing a worn photograph of himself (John) and it makes his heart swell.

John is frantic when Sherlock vanishes the skull remaining unmoved for a while, the detective never returning to the flat/hotel. This ends up being when Sherlock was captured in Serbia. When someone does show up it's Mycroft and he's scowling at the skull as his minions seem to be retrieving Sherlock's things. When John does see Sherlock again its a few hours later and Sherlock is recovering from obvious torture.

Sometime later when John finally gets the clues he needs for an exact location, he's almost to late. He watches from a livestream on his phone as Sebastian Moran finds Sherlock's place and they are in a fight for life. John finally arrives and joins in on the action.

This story gives plenty of opportunity for John to see Sherlock when Sherlock believes no one is watching, maybe seeing sentimental habits, and tears from a man who usually hides them. Not to mention the slow deterioration as Sherlock wears down through the months.

Also, if anyone wants them to be reunited earlier, John could be the one to save Sherlock in Serbia and then he and Sherlock go after Moran together. Anyway, yep that was long >.> plot bunnies are evil~

It's Sherlock's own fault that they fall apart. Panicked and distraught, Sherlock tries to think up anything that can help him get his friend or/and lover back. He's very bad with emotional stuff and social skills so his idea is very bad as well. He waits for some time and then tries to win John back whilst pretending to be another person. Maybe he disguises himself and pretends to be someone else, maybe even a woman, or uses the Internet for it.
John starts trusting this new person in his life. I don't care if he's on his own, with Mary or with someone else, but he's unknowingly attracted to Sherlock's alter-ego. but when he learns that it's Sherlock, he understandably feels betrayed and is furious.

Whether he forgives Sherlock one day or Sherlock can go f*** himself and they fall apart for good is up to you. But if John forgives him I wouldn't want things to be easy for Sherlock.

I don't care if they are lovers or just friends.
A lot of angst please and no A/B/O or weak-woobie-John please.

I'd love to see a fic where when John and Sherlock first meet, John is the one who deduces Sherlock. Could be an AU, or maybe Sherlock is undercover and John realizes he's not a detective, or could just be similar to canon. However it happens, Sherlock is a bit flabbergasted that anyone could read him the way he usually reads other people, and he's suddenly very, very interested in one John Watson :-)

Sherlock starts getting notes (emails, maybe?) from a "secret admirer" who says he knows them too and asking him to "deduce me." Maybe the notes reference things that the public wouldn't know? Anyway, Sherlock is a little intrigued and maybe a little creeped out but he starts trying to figure out who, among his circle of friends (i.e. the main cast from the show), might be flirting with him.

Up to the author who the secret admirer turns out to be, although bonus points if it culminates in a kiss (or more) :-)

Moriarty has a chemical that causes whomever ingests it to experience extreme mood swings. He manages to slip it into Sherlock's tea unnoticed. Within hours, Sherlock is feeling emotions like he normally would had he been unable to hide behind his "sociopath" persona. John is freaked out by this, but goes with it.

S/J please, with Mystrade maybe? also angst if you can do it :)

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have a mad urge to see something where instead of Q being the youngest Holmes, it's fiennes!M who is the oldest Holmes brother. Maybe he's estranged from the family which explains the different last name, or he doesn't want his connection to Mycroft to be made obvious given their respective jobs. Only pairing that is a must is Bond/M and preferably Lestrade/Sherlock but any additional can be filler's choice.

IDEA ONE: I want Mycroft and Sherlock having to be creative in giving James the shotgun talk in regards of him dating their brother. Because it's James Bond, he don't scare easily!

IDEA TWO: first they have to wrap their minds around the fact that Gareth is suddenly the new M and Head of Secret Service when he's targeted by terrorists looking to disrupt MI6 even further by taking out another M so soon after the previous one. This is also when they're clued into the fact that Mallory is actually dating his top agent. And Bond is willing to go to any lengths to keep him safe, even beyond work.

Any other ideas are good too, but I just want the story with the family connection please. ^_^

Set in the great game. maybe he's monitoring Sherlocks blog since he knows he's been posting answers there or maybe mycroft sent him, but it's Greg stood there holding a gun when John walks out in the Parker.

Sherlock may have forgotten to actually "tell* John this is the reason for them going. John is a bit surprised, especially since they weren't actually dating in the first place.

John has to bottle-feed and sometimes spoon-feed Sherlock. I prefer a serious reason behind it rather than a kink. For example, it's because Sherlock is struggling with an eating disorder, and it is the only way to deal with it every time it gets worse. A lot of John's care, comfort, some coaxing and gentle touching in the process are more than welcome, but I prefer no baby play (I don't mind a little bit of it though). While it's not a kink, I'd love it to be quite an intimate thing for them.

Non-sexual or not all-the-way sexual John/Sherlock would be great. Just very close friendship is okay, too.

We're having widespread issues with CAPTCHA on LJ. I've turned it off, but it’s appearing automatically on all posts, even those with fewer than 5000 comments.

In the past, the mods have discussed the possibility of a move to Dreamwidth. Our plans were to wait until we needed to open a new post, then open that new prompting post on DW itself. The older posts would have been imported to DW for backup purposes, but frozen so that new comments could not be posted on them to DW. The old posts on LJ would have been left open so that people interested in filling prompts on them could continue to do so. New comments would have been periodically backed up to the DW posts. This would have left anyone searching the LJ meme for fic with as complete an archive as possible while permitting us the security of having a complete backup on DW.

How will a migration affect the current prompting and overflow posts?
We have had a Dreamwidth backup of the meme for some time. In the past, we have had issues updating comments on posts, and have lost some comments posted directly on DW (by ourselves; no fic was lost, only some testing comments that we made) when updating those posts with comments from LJ. The issues related to that have been solved, but because of concerns like that, I would feel most comfortable opening a new part entirely when we migrate. We could call the first new prompting post Part XXXVI version II and the new overflow post Overflow Post III. People who would prefer to fill on LJ (assuming anonymous commenting is ever fixed there) can feel free to continue to do so on LJ’s Overflow Post II and older prompting posts. Those who prefer using DW alone can use Overflow Post III and the new prompting posts.

How will a migration affect the fic archives? (Pinboard (https://www.pinboard.in/u:SherlockHolmes), Delicious (http://previous.delicious.com/sherlockbbcfic))
The plan is to continue archiving fic with links directing to where they were posted on LJ. Fic on future overflow and prompting parts posted directly to DW will be archived with links to DW.

Our extended plans for the archive are to have a second version that contains only links to the DW entries of fics. This is a secondary concern for us because commenting would be frozen on the posts the older fics would be archived on, so new readers could not leave comments on the fics they’d read. Our plans for this archive were to look at the FPP (http://sherlockbbc-fic.livejournal.com/1047.html) page-by-page entries listing the fics on LJ, look at the appropriate spot on the page on DW, use the link to the fic on LJ to find it in the LJ delicious archive, and then manually copy the entry over onto the DW delicious archive with a DW link. At the moment we do not have enough archivists to work on this, but those are our ideal long-term plans.

Well, in a sense. I would like to see a story where Harry not only survives the events of the movie, but it's my little fanon belief that he also becomes the new Arthur. Oh, and he's also secretly dating Merlin although most of their friends/co-workers already know...

Also would like to see a story where Harry is Mycroft and Sherlock's oldest half-brother/brother(up to anon) and even though showing emotion and that they care isn't the way the Holmes do things, maybe Sherlock at least barely gives Harry enough time to recover after the movie events before he shows up and starts letting him have it about nearly getting himself killed, can he be any more stupid, only Sherlock is allowed to smack his brothers around or hurt them, "you're still working here?!", etc....

This can take place in the middle of medical even or a hospital room, and Harry naturally tries to defend himself but just gets verbally plowed over. Maybe Merlin thinks this is hilarious and just sits back to watch. Mycroft can even be there too, for once not trying to reign Sherlock in because he agrees with everything he's saying(shouting?) but of course he won't show anything of the sort!

OP prefers the only Harry/Merlin and is way too picky with Sherlock pairings so maybe leave those out unless you really want to include one or two...

Can we have John Watson in an argument with the third Holmes brother- who is coincidentally the Quartermaster at MI6- and also have him completely slay? I just want John challenging Q to a battle of wits and winning.

If you hang out on Tumblr or Pinterest, you've seen the head canon that says Mycroft processed a marriage certificate on John and Sherlock's behalf and told Lestrade, who told everyone else at the Yard over pints and whatnot, and now everyone knows they're "married." I'd like to see a fic that deals with the implications of this head canon for John and Sherlock.

I just need this to happen like air. I don't much care what you do about Mary (Aus without Mary are fine with, is what I'm saying. I'd like to avoid cheating on her, if we can because that takes the fun out of everything for me), or if you ship Mystrade in the fic. I don't care if it's a 5+1 or deals with reactions or motivations from Mycroft or the Yarders, or if you deal with the transition to married life on the part of John and Sherlock.

I do like the idea of this secret marriage popping up, them paying no attention to clues, people snickering because they don't know, and Mycroft being smug when reality smacks them in the face. Angst just isn't my bag right now. I like happy endings to stories, and Johnlock, obviously.

I just need some fluff in my life. I tried to write this as a Sweet Home Alabama AU wherein John cannot get married a second time to Mary because he's already married, and it just did not work. So please save me from my own inane scribblings. I promise you that I'll love whatever you write, and it will undoubtably be better than a SHA AU.

I'm new, so I hope I posted correctly. Apologies if I did not. I'll fix any mistakes if you ask.

One day (adult, maybe after being invalided from Afghanistan) John finds a homeless, dirty and cold kitten hybrid (a child or even a toddler). Animal hybrids are treated like animals, but, damn, to John it's just a little kid with cat ears and tail (and maybe some cat-like demeanour).

He takes the kitten-toddler home and decides to be his owner, even though it probably won't be easy, just like taking care of any child.

Maybe animal hybrids live just as long as humans, but they grow up faster than humans (though not as fast as actual animals), so a few years later Sherlock is an adult hybrid, in love with his owner (whether it's mutual or not is up to you).

There is a neurological condition known as Capgras Syndrome. It occurs in people with pre-existing PTSD or some forms of mental illness after that person has a head injury and causes a person to believe their friends and loved ones are imposters. I'm thinking, John somehow gets a head injury, don't really care how, could be from a criminal they're chasing, a car accident, Sherlock accidentally hits him, etc. Anyway, after a blow to the head, John develops Capgras Syndrome, thinks Sherlock, Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade, Mary, and possibly Mycroft, are all imposters and he tries to kill all of them to bring back his real loved ones, except there's no imposters and he tries to kill his actual loved ones. Sherlock and Lestrade try to figure what is wrong with John and why he is trying to kill them. Please don't actually kill any of them, but some major whump, especially Lestrade( I'm a fiend for Lestrade whumpage, as long as someone's there to comfort him after)would be greatly appreciated.

Also, Capgras only has an effect on people who are close to the person that has it, so John would not see Donavan, Anderson, or possibly Molly as imposters.

I don't really care how the imposters are manifested, they can be drones, aliens, clones, whatever. I just really want this.

If you hang out on Pinterest or Tumblr, you've seen this head canon. I need it to happen like air. I love Johnlock fluff and happy endings. I don't care how you approach this, a 5+1, if you deal with the reactions or how they settle into married life, or Mycroft's Mycroftian schemes. I've thought about how being secretly married would impact John's desire to get married to Mary, being that his husband is Not!Dead, and that amuses me. I don't care how you run with this because anything you write will be better than my Sweet Home Alabama AU and I promise to love it.

John has been proven healthy - he runs after Sherlock, he's signed off his therapist. It is likely he'll be recalled and deployed. Sherlock would have no choice but to work for intelligence. Does he manage to get John as his tactical assistant? Or does John return to being a soldier?

I envision this as pre reichenbach fall (Moriairty caused the war?) or post fall with John and Sherlock reconciled. Please no Mary. The level of relationship or just friends John lock is up to you.

Billy wasn't that lady's real son. Him living with her was a part of some social programme and it was only temporary. But, while she was good to him, she can't adopt him (maybe she can't afford it, maybe her husband is against the idea. And it was clear from the start that he's with her only for the time being).

Sherlock has been secretly very unhappy since John's wedding. But, once the child is born, Sherlock feels even sadder and lonelier, so it's probably not quite a secret for anyone any longer. I don't mind if it's not just about friendship, but Sherlock is also in love with John and is heartbroken, because John is a family man now.

When Sherlock learns about Billy's situation, he decides to adopt the boy. Why not? He's not a toddler and can pretty much take care of himself. Most people think it's a very bad idea. Because it's Sherlock. Social service workers are quite sceptical about it as well, so it's not easy (maybe Sherlock has to convince Mycroft to help him, though Mycroft, too, probably thinks it's a bad idea).

Anyway, Billy ends up moving into 221B.

I'd love Sherlock to be more like an elder brother to Billy rather than an adoptive father (I honestly can't imagine Sherlock being a father). Maybe they both have Asperger syndrome and manage to understand each other's needs better than anybody else. Maybe, because John is no longer there, Sherlock's condition has become somewhat worse. Bonus points if Billy at this point is a bit more functional aspie than Sherlock, even though they both are quite functional. If Sherlock has a meltdown, Billy knows what to do. Though Asperger thing is optional and up to you. Maybe Sherlock is just sad and pining, so Billy somewhat helps him through bad days.

Please supportive!John if we see him at all. Please, no Billy hating John. In fact, I don't mind Billy desperately trying to play a matchmaker, because he knows about Sherlock's feelings and John is very good for him. Maybe Billy doesn't understand why John can't have two families separately and make everyone happy.

Sherlock falls asleep before John comes back from his trip to a medical conference. In the middle of the dark night Sherlock starts waking up. At first he thinks that John is back and is asleep next to him, but then, slowly, without opening his eyes, he deduces that it's not John in the bed and is terrified. Whoever is there isn't asleep, either, watching him.

Can be something supernatural or a very creepy human.

Either way, I'd love something dark and frightening.

Bonus: John comes back in time to save Sherlock.
Or maybe he's late...

Maybe he's always had it, or it is something that developed after a traumatic experience (getting shot, or sherlocks fall?) but John has clairtangency. He can pick up strong impressions from objects he holds when he focuses, or general impressions without trying from larger objects/buildings with lots of history/activity.

If its a gained ability, he's never realised what the unsettling feelings are since the incident, and has written them off as gut feelings until he is handling a piece of evidence in a case and is suddenly overwhelmed by the feelings of the owner as they died (fear, pain? Lack of breath if they suffocated or drowned etc). Initially he's freaked out and terrified but learns to master it in order to preserve his sanity and help on cases.

If he's always had it he never realised it could be so specific and clear as when he handles evidence, but eventually he can hone it to such a degree that on rare occasions he can know more about the victim and the murder by one touch than Sherlock can with over a minute of deductions.
