Prompting Part XXXV

GUIDELINES

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

Things We Don't Say 2/?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-11 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock freed her arm and she took the medicine as John left again in search of towels. She downed it quickly and allowed her head to fall back against his chest as he shifted position so that they would both be relatively comfortable.
John reappeared, having donned his trousers somewhere along the way, and spread a towel beneath Sherlock’s left side to prevent the blood from getting on the mattress.
Climbing back onto the bed he straddled Mary’s hips, picking up a small pair of scissors to cut her black shirt away from the wound.
Mary began to voice another protest but a glare from John made her close her mouth.

“If you aren’t going to go to the hospital, then I’ve got to be the one to make sure that doesn’t get infected or bleed out. I don’t want to hear any complaints.”

She scrunched her face up as John tugged the detached sleeve down her arm, then cut up along her shoulder to the collar and allowed the front of the shirt to fall away, exposing the bullet wound.

“What in hell were you doing?” John demanded, soaking a cotton ball in hydrogen peroxide and dabbing at the edges of the puncture, causing Mary to hiss in pain.

“I could ask you two the same thing,” she muttered through gritted teeth, quite effectively stopping all further questions from John.

“You’re looking for a small bullet, from a hand gun, gold or copper in color, probably up against the bone,” Sherlock told John, studying Mary’s wound as the doctor wiped down a pair of tweezers with disinfectant. “The angle at which she was shot was almost dead-on, so it shouldn’t be too hard to see, however it may have clipped the collar bone so you might have to watch out for loose shards. Do you have enough light?”

“Plenty. Hold her tight, Sherlock. This isn’t going to be pleasant.”

Sherlock felt Mary’s nails dig into the flesh of his lower arm as he locked her upper body in place with almost crushing force. John shifted so that his knee was resting on the palm of her left hand, pinning her wounded arm in place, and leaned over her shoulder, tweezers at the ready.
Sherlock couldn’t see what John was doing, but he could guess from Mary’s reactions. He felt the woman’s body go rigid as John spread the wound with the tweezers, heard the strangled cry of pain that she choked back as he found the bullet and grabbed onto it, and felt her struggle against his hold in agony as John began pulling the bullet backwards through torn flesh.

“Hang in there, almost got it,” John soothed, his jaw clenched in concentration.

It seemed to take forever to remove the shrapnel, and Sherlock’s muscles began to ache with the effort of restraining the ex-assassin. A low whine of pain escaped Mary’s throat.

“There!” John held the bullet up victoriously as Mary let out a sob of relief, going limp in Sherlock’s arms.

Sherlock allowed his grip to relax as well, but immediately tensed up again as he saw John pick up the antiseptic. The doctor didn’t give a warning this time, only a nod at Sherlock to make sure he was ready.
Mary cried out and thrashed against their grip as John cleaned the wound thoroughly, but she was no match for the two of them. Eventually the medicine, the blood loss, and her exhaustion caught up to her and she gave up trying to fight against them, her eyes screwed shut and her jaw clenched tight in pain as John finished cleaning the wound and put a few quick stitches in it.
