Prompting Part XXXV

GUIDELINES

  • Anon posting is not required, but most definitely allowed. If you think you recognise an anon, keep it to yourself and don’t out them. IP tracking is off, and will remain that way.

  • Multiple fills are encouraged, and all kinds of fills are accepted! Fic, art, vids, cosplay, interpretive dance — whatever. Go wild! :D

  • Don’t reprompt until TWO parts after the last posting of the prompt.

  • RPF (real person fic, i.e. fic involving the actors themselves) is not supported at this meme.

  • Concrit is welcome, but kinkshaming, hijacking, and flaming are not tolerated.

THE FILLED PROMPTS POST
When you fill a prompt, please use the appropriate Filled Prompts Post to archive your fill (there are instructions on the actual post).

If the part you wanted isn't up yet, just wait and one of the archivists will get to it, but please, once it is up, make sure you post your fills there according to the guidelines. DO NOT skip out on doing this because it seems like too much effort. If you want your fill to make it to the Delicious archive, that’s the way to do it.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about how it works if you are confused! The mods will be happy to explain.

WARNINGS/OFFENSIVE WORDING IN PROMPTS
Please consider warning for prompts that may trigger people (and also for fills, because some people read in flat view) and phrasing prompts in a manner that strives to be respectful.

Things which you might want to consider warning for include: Rape/Non-Con, Death, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Underage Relationships, among others.

That being said, this is a kink meme. As such, there will be prompts that could offend you in a number of different ways. Not every prompt will have a trigger warning, and not every prompt will rub you the right way. If you have an issue with a specific prompt, feel free to bring it up in a discussion that takes place off the meme. However, flaming will not be tolerated regardless of origin.

You are highly encouraged to scroll past any prompt that you dislike.

Remember: be civil, be friendly, but don’t be shy!

THINGS THAT MAKE BROWSING THE MEME EASIER FOR EVERYONE
Please nest your fills. Doing so will make it easier for archivists to save your fills to the Delicious archive. Using subject lines will also help people reading the meme in flatview keep track of what’s happening. Finally, titling your fills (even if it’s something silly) will be helpful to those tracking a lot of prompts or scrolling through the meme.

PROMPT FREEZES
Depending on the rate of activity, there may or may not be a prompt freeze when a part reaches 2000 and 4500 comments. However, there will be one when it reaches 7000. After the 7000 comments freeze, a new part will be posted, and all prompting should happen on the new part.

John/Moriarty - soulmates, death, violence, romance?

The first time John met his soulmate, his face was spattered with blood.

A!A here!

Thank you guys do much for all the comments, you're all awesome! If you'll excuse the shameless self-promotion, my Ao3 is here: http://archiveofourown.org/users/cabintardlock and another fill I'm doing on here is "Perfectly Fine" on this part, page 45!

Sorry anon, this is a bit of a different style than anything on my Ao3, so you might be disappointed.

I will post this to Ao3, i just haven't decided if I want to clump it all together or keep it broken up yet. Thanks for reading!

John/Sherlock (eventually). Genital Mutilation, Torture, Gore, Trauma, H/C, Angst.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-04 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
During his captivity Sherlock gets tortured and gets his penis and testicles removed by a torturer. Later it can't be restored, so he's got nothing left between his legs. While it's all "just a transport" and Sherlock was supposedly asexual (never tried to have sex and had never been really interested), he's got a severe emotional trauma, phantom pains and other very unpleasant problems even when everything's fully healed.

When he comes back from being "dead", John has no idea that Sherlock has been through something this terrible. But later he accidentally learns about it (for example, Sherlock forgets to lock the bathroom door, John enters and sees him peeing like women do. Or he just accidentally sees Sherlock naked). Sherlock hates to talk about it, it's hard, but, still, he tells John the whole story, maybe even lets John examine him.

Sherlock thinks that John can never love him back and be with him; couldn't be even when Sherlock's body was intact and, of course, can't be now. But, despite everything, they eventually become a couple. They hesitate before trying anything sexual. John has to find a way to make Sherlock feel good (men without external genitals can still have an orgasm via prostate stimulation).

If you really want to stick to the canon (within reasonable limits, of course ( :P ), and as long as it's eventual johnlock anyway), it would be interesting if Janine knew Sherlock's secret. She can learn about it by accident (maybe she tries to touch him through his clothes and it ends very badly (panic and pain due to trauma, and such)) and they never have anything sexual at all. But I would prefer her not to use this particular information against him in those scandalous papers when she learns that he'd been lying to her and their relationship was entirely a fake one.

oh yeah, I would read the fuck out of this. Seconded!

Sherlock/John Sherlock has Phimosis

(Anonymous) 2014-08-04 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
So john and Sherlock get together and since Sherlock hasn't actually had interest or really used his penis before John, he didn't realise or it didn't bother him before now.

But with John, sherlock's getting introduced to pleasant intimacy and more. Except you know the pain. John figures out what is causing Sherlock discomfort and John helps Sherlock through the painful/painstakingly slow process of stretching his foreskin.

I'd like it if Sherlock just lets John do the work because he's too sensitive and it hurts. All he can do is lie back and try not to cry.

I've been trying, really, I have, but it's been proving a bit difficult. It's hard enough as it is to write Sherlock, but then to write him with no soul!? It's a challenge. (But I like a challenge!)

Sherlock has remained celibate because his orgasms are too intense

(Anonymous) 2014-08-05 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock enjoys sexual activity up until the point of orgasm, because when he has an orgasm, it's so intense that he can't handle it. It completely floors him, taking away his control and the sensation is so intense that it spans past pleasure and into a not-so-good territory.

So he rarely indulges in masturbation, and never, ever sex, because the end is never pleasant. As time goes on, he starts to see this as an asset to the Work.

But when he meets John, desire sparks, but he restrains himself because of his issue and because of the Work. Except then they start getting closer and edge towards intimacy.

And that's where things get complicated. Sherlock enjoys what they do, up until the whole orgasm deal. To Sherlock's shock, John never pressures him once he learns what the problem is, and together, they gradually work through the problem so that orgasming is a more pleasurable experience for Sherlock, though from time to time, he still has orgasms that are too intense for him to handle. When they do happen, John soothes him.

Sherlock/Molly with eventual Sherlock/Molly/John - John's trust issues

(Anonymous) 2014-08-05 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
John's marriage doesn't work out because John couldn't get past his trust issues with Mary. John's lonely, especially since Sherlock and Molly began dating. Seeing them together reminds John that he's never had a trusting relationship. John's also surprised to find himself pining for both of them, but obviously they are only interested in a intimate relationship with each other. After all, John reasons, Sherlock trusted Molly to keep his secret after Reichenbach, not John. Both Sherlock and Molly lied to him while Sherlock was dead, so John assumes that a close, trusting relationship with either of them isn't something that can ever be, nor something either of them would be interested in pursuing.

Meanwhile Sherlock and Molly are both worried about how despondent John has become and somehow find out why it's so hard for John to be around them (maybe Sherlock deduces it or maybe John's drunk and reveals it to them). I'd love to read the progression of Sherlock and Molly both realizing they love John more than platonically and working to convince a very distrustful John that it's not pity and it's not part of some scheme, that not only do they sincerely want to be in a relationship with him but that he can truly trust them from here on out.

John meets Mary first. Later, after taking a job as a rentboy, he meets Sherlock. cw: infidelity

(Anonymous) 2014-08-05 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
(inspired by the film Concussion) John is invalided home from Afghanistan and he's depressed. The usual story. He can't get a job (he's not a doctor, just a soldier) and is having difficulty adjusting to civilian life. Eventually, he meets Mary (or another woman), falls in love, gets married and he's finally happy. He doesn't ever quite get much excitement in his life, but at least he got the perfect life he'd always thought he wanted. He and Mary have a child together, and as years pass John doesn't ever get a job. Mary is the breadwinner, she's (as in canon) a doctor/nurse and John is pretty much just a stay-at-home dad. He's incredibly bored with life and his marriage has hit a low point (hasn't had sex in awhile, Mary unusually distant all the time) so, fed up, he tries something new. John is bisexual (and insecure?), so he hires a prostitute/rentboy but it turns out to be a disaster, somehow. Someone, maybe a close friend of John's (Mike Stamford?) tells John he knows a man who runs a small-time prostitution ring and is seeking a 'mature' rentboy for his male clients. John is convinced after friend/Mike Stamford tells him he'll be getting paid quite a bit of cash. John is hesitant about the whole affair, but tries it out and finds that he loves being a rentboy, gets really into it, enjoys the sex, finally starts enjoying life again (and doesn't tell Mary. But Mary isn't stupid, eventually suspects something is going on).

How Sherlock comes into the picture is up to the author--is he on a case involving the prostitution ring and is undercover when he meets John? Is he coked off his tits when he hires John for a bit of fun? John falls for Sherlock and vice versa; Sherlock continues to hire John just so he can see him again.

Ultimately a Sherlock/John ending and shared custody of Baby!Watson between Mary and John would be great.

Bonus love for Johnstrade!

Oooh, dark!John. I love dark!John. Or maybe this is very-dark-grey!John, since he's motivated by a sincere desire to protect Sherlock's life here, not by a desire to harm Sherlock or use Sherlock's body against Sherlock's will.

Glad you've picked this up again. Looking forward to more!

Mycroft says: "pyrrhic victory." How appropriate.

OP! So glad you are here!
Yeah, it's kinda grey, but pretty dark grey, and I'm glad you're good with this amount of greyness. It's sincere, but it's probably a tad misguided. Or maybe not? I'm not quite sure myself on this one. And it will change a bit as it goes, too. I'm enjoying the grey entirely too much. Having some minor problems with POV on part of the next chapter. Once I get that straightened out it will be up.
(Pyrrhic victory! How funny!)

A death in the family

[identity profile] cactuswren.livejournal.com 2014-08-05 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Long prompt is long, sad prompt is sad:

Mary dies. Writer's option whether the baby dies too.

John deals with it well, or so it seems. He grieves deeply, but he's healing -- but when Sherlock invites him to move back to Baker Street, he refuses. He keeps the house he shared with Mary mostly as it was, but not as a frozen-in-time shrine: he's willing to make changes, a new picture in the entryway, a better lamp, a refrigerator that doesn't make that annoying noise at night. Everyone is relieved at how well he's dealing with this new loss.

It might not even be Sherlock who first figures out there's something wrong. Sherlock, John's best friend, lied to him, faked his own death, let John mourn him for two years. And then he came back.

Mary was a liar too.

John is functioning absolutely normally in the world, in his medical practice, in his work with Sherlock. He seems completely healthy and normal. Except for this calm, quiet certainty that Mary will be coming back, perhaps not right away but soon. She's faked her death, just as Sherlock did. And, like Sherlock, she must have a good reason.

Maybe John uses the wrong tense in conversation: not "Mary would have liked that lamp", but "Mary will like that lamp". Or if the baby died as well, he might be certain Mary is taking care of the baby, but might keep constant track of how many teeth it must have by now, whether it's on solid food -- should he get a baby-gate for the kitchen? The baby must be creeping by now, she'll be walking soon ...

How can anyone handle this? If they try to explain to him, John, Mary is dead, we all know she died -- John is likely to nod understandingly and point out that everyone was certain Sherlock was dead too.

Sherlock himself might be able to get through: "John, I've examined all the evidence. If Mary were alive I'd surely have deduced it by now." But this might destroy John utterly. Or it might tip him over the edge: Why does Sherlock want to convince me Mary's dead? She couldn't have faked her death all alone, any more than Sherlock himself did. She must have help, just as he did. What a relief it is to know she's got someone helping her from behind the scenes, someone who knows how. Probably Mycroft's in on it too. Yes, this is good to know. And he'll just say quietly, "Yes, Sherlock, I understand. Thank you." And give him a nod and a knowing look ...

ETA: Bonus for a conversation between Sherlock and Ella, with her reminding him that she can't talk to him about a client, and him assuring her in turn that of course she can't, he knows that, but he wants to talk to her about John and all she has to do is listen.
