Not saying that no one can change. But trust me, if American politics were to change for the better, things would have to get a whole hell of a lot worse than they already have. (That old song and dance of how things get worse before they get better.)

"saying that like it's a fact no-one can change is a bit not good, especially when it comes from a country that thinks it can teach other countries about democracy." And I think this is why a lot of Americans get up in arms about "I AM NOT MY GOVERNMENT/COUNTRY." Because right there? That's what you just did. That's what a lot of people do. I don't think it's what the OP did or the first commenter, but you just made that mistake. It may be hard to believe, but I am not a country. Do a lot of Americans think we should try and teach other nations about democracy? Not really. It's none of our damn business. Our government does what it damn well pleases with or without our vote. Hence what I was saying before. We have very little power, and our politicians are shit.
