Anyone who's in a position of power is there because they want that power and all the trappings that come with it. They want to be important and wealthy and have the to power to maintain their positions. They sell out the people they're supposed to represent to similarly wealthy and powerful special interests who wield them like tools. There are no heroes in government. The heroes are all working for non-profits, and not as CEOs.
